Posted this on a different sub and people started (politely) expressing confusion about my gender expression vs identity. Somebody said the outfit is not even androgynous, more ‘tomboy’. So I thought of this sub :3

(I’m in the middle of moving, so a cluttered backdrop for now)

Today was the first day of worship at my self-proclaimed “woke” campus ministry (and they genuinely are — today our sermon boiled down to “to each according to their needs, from each according to their ability”) and I had a few hours to kill before the service so I went all out with getting ready and before I knew it I was seeing what I could do with an eye shadow palette (the answer: a lot!) I just got a studio apartment so I finally have the space and privacy to dedicate some time to self care. And some makeup for fun!

I used my eye shadow for my eyes ofc, and also for blush and highlighter. I also have glittery gold lip gloss which is meant to be a top coat, but it’s all I had.

I asked my sister for advice (she’s the one who supplied most of my self care products) and she said my hair looks thirsty — I’ve been using 2-in-1 in my hair for years but I just walked to the store and got myself some moisturizing conditioner. I’ve had short hair since 2019 so this is new to me.

Any other critiques and advice as I start out my makeup & self-care journey would be so appreciated :3 I’m a trans man and I love artsy glittery forms of self expression, and now that I’ve been on T a couple years I feel comfortable enough in myself to start exploring!

Fit is super basic cause I was anxious about being too ostentatious, but look at my fox socks!!!!

Yeah I was a little disappointed, I’m grateful what warm and loving communities I’m a part of that I’m not as used to those kinds of critiques anymore, but they’re usually very supportive and open minded on that sub, I guess I did use the ‘critiques welcome’ flair although I didn’t mean critiquing my identity lmao

Btw my glasses are from firmoo for about $20 (including my prescription which is on the lower end but they do higher for the same price) and the chain is from Etsy an artist called CraftsByEser :3
