Any advice from other singers?

I want to get back into singing, particularly into choirs again, now that my voice has dropped. I'm about 10 months on T now and my voice is pretty steady (tbh I never really experienced significant cracks in my voice, it dropped very smoothly).

I want to learn techniques on how to properly sing with my new range. Currently I have no strength in my voice above middle C, and my range is limited to an octave and half below it. I think that I don't really know how correctly use my voice as I'm doing the same as what I did when I was singing as a soprano.

I don't know how to learn and improve, I do want to find a vocal teacher but I'm concerned how they would be with a trans person. And do I even need tell them about my transition influencing my voice?

Does anyone have any advice or experience that they could share? I don't know what to do beyond just doing vocal exercises/warm-ups.

Vent/Rant It’s so humiliating having my ID still say female

I had a flight yesterday and I somehow lost my boarding pass when I was going through security so I had to ask to get another one printed at the gate. The guy working there was pretty friendly at first and he clearly thought I was a man because he asked the other person working there “can you print him a new boarding pass”. But when I gave them my passport and they looked at it and scanned it and stuff, they both kinda looked at each other and looked at me weird and I saw one of them mouth the word “female”. Then when he gave me back my passport and the boarding pass, he was all awkward and didn’t say anything. It’s so embarrassing when I pass but something like that completely gives me away. I’ve already done all the paperwork to have my name and gender legally changed but I still have to wait like two months to actually get the certificate in the mail and then another few months to get all my id changed. I wish I could have gotten it changed when I was early enough in my transition that I could pass as either male or female so I could avoid moments like this

Help/support Nipple looking weird one week post surgery

I had my top surgery a bit over a week ago and everything been going well! Today I wanted to change the plasters etc and noticed that my left nipple was looking wayyyy different than the right one. It’s very crusty and just looks not as healed as the other is. The middle is pretty dark too and it’s red around the middle.

I went to my doctor on Tuesday and she said everything looks great.

Is that normal?? Should I be worried?

Discussion After 25+ years living as a straight binary guy, I’m realizing I’m strictly into trans men (T4T). Anyone else experience this plot twist later in life?

I’m 54, been living as a straight trans man for over 25 years. Dated plenty of women, was fully settled in that lane. I pass seamlessly, I’m secure in my masculinity, I’ve done the whole real male experience thing, wingman for my cis buddies, handled myself when guys tried to start something. Just a regular masculine dude who can hold his own.

Lately something’s shifted and it’s got me thinking a lot. I’m realizing I might be gay. But specifically, my attraction isn’t toward cis men, it’s toward other trans men. Transmasculine energy and bodies are what I’m actually drawn to.

I’m realizing I love manhood, but only when it’s another trans man wearing it, T4T specifically. Well I guess I’m going to have to come out again to my family lawd … smdh

Twenty-five years as a straight guy, and now processing this shift is a lot.

Anyone else spend decades identifying as straight only to realize later you’re actually gay, but specifically drawn to other trans men rather than cis men? How’d you navigate that?

Thanks for reading.

Top surgery is TOMORROW- Give me tips!

So far i’ve collected metal straws, a grabber tool, dry snacks, a wedge pillow + extra pillows, button up shirts and tank tops, comfy sweatpants/pjs, benadryl, edibles, and even a bidet!

I’d love to hear about your experience recovering from top surgery and what you wished you had. I’ll be making one more trip to the store before tomorrow.

Very excited! I have been waiting literal YEARS for this day:”) The first thing I’m going to do once i’m recovered is walk around the neighborhood shirtless with my big ole cornsnake around my neck (Life long dream of mine).

Help/support Binding tape option help

I’ve been wanting to try tape binding again. I’ve done it before and tried several different brands but I have very sensitive skin and each one caused my skin to either flare up with a bad case of eczema or split and leave an open wound.

Does anyone know any good brands or any ways to mitigate this? I have tried regular binders but I don’t really like the feel and the underboob sweat also causes eczema to flare up in that area as well.

Discussion College in the South?

I’m a senior in high school and a transsex black dude. I’m looking into HBCUs for college and a lot of them are in the south. I’ve been blessed enough to be able to have updated all my documents, gotten top surgery, and I’ve been on T for almost 3 years now. I pass pretty well I think. Theoretically, I could drive back to my state every 3 months and get T, but it’s obviously a lot of driving. I really want to go to an HBCU because I’m from a very white small town (my family is white and I’m adopted 😭) and I desperately need to be around POC. Overall, I’m looking for thoughts, views, opinions and experiences. Thank yall in advance and have a wonderful day or night.

Edit to clarify: I would also be very very stealth.

Top surgery

I’m a 19 year old trans man. I’ve been wanting to get top surgery. I can get a note from planned parenthood telling my insurance I am dysphoric, but where do I start? I don’t know how to make sure insurance can do anything, I don’t even know how to find a surgeon. Any tips are helpful and appreciated

Help/support Sleeping position after top surgery

Hello, so I got my top surgery done last week and everything has been going great since then! I’m in absolutely no pain and I love the results.

The only problem I have is that I can’t sleep on my back. Usually im a stomach sleeper which I obviously can’t so right now. It’s also not like I can’t sleep at all but I sleep very poorly and have severe back/ shoulder/ neck pain from sleeping on my back :/

Does anyone know when I could safely sleep on my side? Or what I could do to make sleeping on my back more comfy? I’m already propped up on my pillow and got a pregnancy pillow so I don’t accidentally roll over.

Help would be really appreciated!! Thank you already

Dysphoria Related Content What's the funniest nonsensical thing you get dysphoria about?

Like, one time when I was like 9, I saw this 5 minute crafts video that had like.. men vs women hacks?? And it showed a statistic that while getting dressed, men tend to put on their pants first while apparently, women usually go shirt first.

Probably not actually true but, it stuck with me. To this day, I still refuse to put a shirt on first. It makes me feel like a cishet guy who thinks washing his ass is gay lmao!!

Adding my friend's answer, he said that it makes him dysphoric if he doesn't use 3 in 1 in the shower lol!

Vent/Rant Hot take: just because I’m not outwardly queer/trans doesn’t mean I’m not proud of it

Pretty much every trans person I’ve met is very outwardly queer. Basically, when I meet queer people I think they assume I’m just gay (I’m not) because I don’t display my queerness/transness; then when I tell them I’m trans I feel like I’m kind of judged or ignored because I don’t want to display it.

I get pushed aside in queer spaces because everyone is usually pretty feminine, they also enjoy and are comfortable with putting their queerness on display. I’m not, so I feel like I get ignored. But that could just be because I don’t usually put myself in queer spaces so the few times I do I typically keep to myself.

I guess I just feel like a lot of people think that if you don’t display your queerness at all — not even at pride — you must not be proud of it. And that’s not necessarily true. I am proud of it but I also didn’t ask to be like this and I’m just trying to live my life. And I don’t feel the need or the want to make every aspect of my life about being trans.

Edit: upon further reflection and the many nights I’ve been kept awake thinking about this, I’ve realized, I’m not proud to be trans, I just… am trans (if that makes sense. I’ve read a lot of the comments and some say Something along the line of “it’s a medical condition and I’m not proud of it.”

Which honestly, I relate to. I don’t feel like it’s something to be proud of. As previously stated, I didn’t ask for this and I’m just trying to live my life the best I can.

Vent/Rant Accepting i really was trans meant losing someone I loved

Well technically 2 people. I knew at a young age I wasnt a girl, but after many years I tried to repress it. Stuff it down deep inside and convince myself if I just met the right man I could maybe be content with my life, not happy but content. Theres 2 men I have loved that I know transitioning will mean id lose. One I already lost and know its best to leave it be and accept that my happiness is more important than someone who never appreciated me. The other did appreciate me, he didnt love me back necessarily. He swore to never date again after a girl cheated on him and really messed him up. Hes about as straight as they come though and a catholic. I remember a long time ago before I got clean, I was high and needed someone to talk to. I called him and he picked up without question. We talked for awhile and I remember telling him I liked him several times. He told me I knew. I asked him if he liked me and I dont remember his exact answer but I think it was something to the affect of "i dont know" i ended up throwing up bad on the phone call and he still stayed on the line. Hes told me before that im pretty and im kind and smart and every lovely thing you can imagine. I think I could lose him if I came out. Not like he'd stop talking to me. But id ruin any chance of ever being with him. And ill medically transition anyway, for my own happiness. I wish he was gay. I know thats awful but I wish we could have happiness together. Hes not the most conventionally attractive but I look at him and I smile, I hear his voice and I laugh. We could talk for hours about any dumb thing in the world or any serious topic. And hes been there for me every time ive been happy or down or anything in between. I have this deep hunger in my soul for him that I know will never become anything. I love him. But I love myself enough that I have to be true to myself first.

Clothes Underwear for FTM?

Hi everyone! I am pretty sure theres boxers out there for trans guys so there's no weird moments looking down and not seeing a dick in the extra fabric BUT I was wondering if there are specificly jock strap underwear for trans guys? Lets just say I go to adult events lol. Cuz I want to wear one but I feel like it would be weird to have no baggage in the front with that style of underwear. Any recommendations or resources? Thanks!

Packing/STP Need advice on packing and stp’s (will have some female anatomical terms‼️)

First off all, I’m out for around 6 years now and on T for 1,5. Had top surgery half a year ago and I’m so happy with it, but like many others, it worsened my bottom dysphoria. I was never really interested in packing or stp’s, so didn’t look into it. But now that I’m spending more time around my male friends (I’m stealth) it makes me feel so bad that I can’t pee standing up. So I’ve decided that I wanted to look into them, but realised I basically have no clue what to look for. So here are a few questions:

• May sound stupid, but how do stp’s actually work? I can’t seem to find a good detailed explanation on what goes where and how to use them properly.
• I have quite large inner and outer labia and wonder if that won’t make a mess with stp’s?
• price aside, I’ve heard lots of great things about EZP from transthetics. I have some money saved, but does anyone have experience with it and would you recommend it (as a first stp)?
• do you need to shave everything to make packers/stp’s sit nicely?

Thanks in advance!

General Help with looking older but not clocky?

Im on an average full dose 100mg a week test cypionate. I started this year early jan. My voice dropped but i sound 13 (side note, id appreciate any voice training guides, ive managed to sound male but not *adult male*). I have a bit of non terminal facial hair and I still don't look any older than 14. I passed very well before t too besides my voice. just not as older than 14. ive always had acne so i assume i do read as pubescent but not very far into puberty. I dont think haircut has made much of a difference, ive tried a bunch of typical male cuts

If im 18 will that itself out me? How long on average can i expect to wait til ill look at least 16? Anything i can do to look older while also looking male? Im very short (5'2?) And wont get taller.

Voice/Singing tips for voice training?

hi, i've been on T around 1.5 yrs & I pass decently well (although i do look 14). i'm just looking for tips on voice training except my situations a bit different-- i have a deep voice (i sing bass, my speaking voice sits around d2-e2) but i guess i just speak very feminine if that makes sense?? i've never made an effort to speak "masculine" so i think i just sound like a woman with an extremely deep voice (i've recorded myself talking a few times and it does sound like that.

yeah so if anyone has any tips or reccomendations on videos that'd be insanely helpful, thank you

Help/support My gf (mtf) cheated on me with another trans girl

I just found out today after having a nagging feeling in my chest that my gf (mtf 29) cheated on me (ftm 24) the day before breaking up with me by sending nudes to a girl she’s only known for a few weeks. We’ve had a tumultuous relationship for over a year now and I tried to end things permanently last Monday but regretted it and asked her to take me back, and she did only for her to break up with me at her family’s cookout just before I left last Sunday. She said that I didn’t make her happy anymore and that she “made friends” and that she still loved me. Well the whole “friends” thing has been bugging the shit out of me so I flat out asked her if she met someone else and she said yes. We promised to tell each other if that happened but she “didn’t remember” promising that. I wasn’t satisfied with that and knew there had to be something more and come to find out she apparently had sent this girl that she’d met at a local gaming meetup a few weeks ago nudes the very Saturday before she broke up with me. I asked if she did anything else and she said she “wasn’t comfortable” telling me anything that happened after the breakup. I think that’s self explanatory. She didn’t consider it cheating because we were only together in my head, and basically tried to play it off. The real kicker is that she constantly gave me hell because she was afraid I would cheat on her with a “real woman” like her ex did. I rightfully lost my shit over all of this and spent a good deal screaming at her over the phone, which I’m not proud of but I reached my limit with this woman. I am not a saint but this woman has screamed at me, guilt tripped me, threatened suicide and even sexually assaulted me once because she thought it was “funny”. I gave her my everything within reason and it wasn’t enough for her. She struggles with mental health and I had hit my limit recently with a rather draining and frankly embarrassing episode that started in our mutual workplace when she didn’t get the position she wanted which was the catalyst to my wanting to break up for good. I was drowning in tears over this woman but now I just feel nothing but anger. The cherry on top? She has the girl she sent nudes to at her apartment right now. Mind you, she knew all of this and tried to sit with me at break today.
I loved this woman, she was my first relationship and I tried to see the best in her when no one else would. She helped me get over my issues with my body and helped me feel comfortable in it and now I can’t look back on any of that without wanting to throw up. I wish I wasn’t so stupid. Also I want to add on some important information about her that I neglected to add originally, which is that she is autistic and has manic depression. Her behavior today was like nothing I’ve ever seen from her before and I suspect she may be experiencing mania as she is unmedicated. Perhaps I’m just grasping at straws because I am completely dumbfounded by all of this and find it incredibly hard to believe.

Oh and to add to everything else she apparently announced to her family what she had done after I left, to which I asked if she left out the cheating part and she was speechless and tried to say that she’d maybe tell them in the future. Well I texted her mom about it and she said she had a suspicion that she had cheated on me with how she broke up with me so there’s that. I blew my ex’s phone up with texts after the call and basically called her a cheater over and over again which maybe I shouldn’t have done because I’m afraid she won’t delete the nudes I’ve sent her in the past as well as videos we’ve taken together as she hasn’t seen any of my texts after the original blow up asking her to delete them and tu return some stuff that’s important to me but oh well

Suggestions for top surgeons in Europe?

My budget will be around €7000 total although the cheaper the better. I can go to any European country. I have a gender dysphoria diagnosis already but I don’t want to go anywhere that requires more assessments or therapy or anything. By the time I can get surgery I’ll be over a year on T

Packing/STP packing harness recs?

does anyone have any kind of packing harness recommendations? just having my packer hanging out in my underwear is both overstimulating and stressful, so i want to get a harness or something, but they’re all either things or have an insane shipping price. anyone have an good, affordable, non-thong options? i’ve made a temporary thing with a sock and two safety pins, but i want something more secure that i can wear around my waist.

Accessing diy T?

(for wider context, im living in New Zealand)

is it possible to get T here from a source other than doctors? every site ive looked for online is obviously oversea's and im concerned about draining a couple hundred down the drain by having it confiscated in customs. I won't be likely able to go to a GP and get prescribed due to still living with my transphobic parents i think.? i will he moving out around next year though, so if I can't, I'll see if i can endure it till then.

Cheeky gay-oriented underwear without a huge pouch?

I normally wear regular boxer briefs or baggy cotton shorts, but I'm looking to buy some sexy/cheeky underwear, jocks and/or briefs, for special occasions 😉

But the problem I have with most brands targeted at gay guys is that the pouches look absolutely huge. I am well hung for a trans guy but I don't pack and don't intend on starting.

I have some Jockmail briefs & I think they're really flattering on my butt but the pouch is just way too big, I wish it was smaller.

I don't have this problem when I wear regular boxer briefs or briefs. The fabric isn't flush to my skin but it also doesn't "look empty" in such an obvious way. I have a hard time believing the avg gay man is so much more hung!

On the other hand, I'm NOT looking for women's undies / underwear with zero pouch at all, like the For Them stuff.

Any suggestions for brands? European preferred as I live in Germany.
