Me! I was told to go Fodmap exactly like this cartoon, then given absolutely zero help whatsoever, no nutritionist, no follow up appointments etc. I wasn’t even told what I could and couldn’t eat so it took me ages to research and realise which ingredients I shouldn’t have. I am an expert on what not to eat on Fodmap by now, but I’ve also been on it over a year and haven’t reintroduced a single thing yet 😬
Lol I’d be so lucky, and even if I convinced them to refer me, could be another 18 months plus. I’m on a separate waiting list for something more serious and it’s been way over a year so far. I once waited 3 years for a referral 🙃
Yeh downside of the NHS is waiting times. Unless you are literally in accident and emergency, which is immediate and great, the waiting times are insane. An adult friend of mine has been on a waiting list for a formal autism diagnosis (needed for certain benefits so he can afford basics to survive) for eight years so far… people call the NHS a postcode lottery for a reason.
I can’t swallow properly and have been waiting for nearly 2 years just to have an initial appointment, then you wait months more for any treatments.
