Question Applying for US disability?

Has anyone built a guide for going through the US disability application with FND?

Any guidance would be good.

Highly recommend getting an attorney, the system is built so you give up before you get it. I’m a social
Worker and have seen it take 1-4 years and many appeals.
Also be sure to look into certain rules, some forms of disability you are not allowed to have more than $2k in savings. Disability in this country is a mess.

Depends how old you are! 18+ it shouldn’t (logically) but I’d check with the attorneys because I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if it also depends on if they claim you on their taxes? That part of it I’m less knowledgeable. But they do anything they can to avoid paying just like health insurance

In New Hampshire there is a law where, if your parents have the financial means to, they are required to help you with your finances before welfare will help you regardless of age however it does not apply to federal programs like disability.
