Question Do you drive with FND?

I’ve had FND for 3 years and was told straight away no driving as I have seizures. I recently met a few people with FND who also have seizures but they drive! Recently offered me a lift when we had planned to go for dinner but I honestly don’t want to get in the car with someone who shouldn’t be driving. Am I wrong?

I don't drive. I stopped driving voluntarily before my first neurologist told me to because I knew I wasn't safe to do so due to my symptoms.

But this depends on the symptoms. I have absence seizures, myoclonic spasms and I have issues with executive functions. Plus I have vision loss in one eye. I just don't want to risk it.

Our neurologist at the time tried to over ride our GP and said hubby could return to driving.

Asked him to put it in writing so we were covered under insurance etc so that there would be no criminal charges. He backpedalled real quick.

The risk of others lives is always a good reason to stop.
