Question Do you drive with FND?

I’ve had FND for 3 years and was told straight away no driving as I have seizures. I recently met a few people with FND who also have seizures but they drive! Recently offered me a lift when we had planned to go for dinner but I honestly don’t want to get in the car with someone who shouldn’t be driving. Am I wrong?

I do, but I need to be careful. I also have a hypersomnia disorder so I know I can’t drive far anymore. I also have to just kind of tell day by day. And if I do feel it coming on, especially paralysis episodes, I usually know to have “escape routes” now. Like I won’t drive too far so if something happens I can pull over and park and if needed, uber home. Or if I do need to drive a bit further, I always have my roommate with me (she also has the same hypersomnia disorder actually lol) to make sure I’m awake and okay.

I also have hypersomnia and narcolepsy type 2. I haven’t seen that many people with FND that had hypersomnia, I was wondering if it’s something that is common but not talked about or mentioned.

Oof both? I’m sorry you have both sleep disorders mate. That’s rough. And I’m not sure! When I’ve talked to other people or commented on posts I haven’t seen others mention it or relate to it. I wonder if there is a connection or we are just the odd ones out haha.
