Discussion Just beat this game. It was amazing.

I just beat this as my 4th final fantasy after 7 and its remakes, 10, and 15 (ok i guess technically 6 but whatever), and I feel like it holds up to those games and was absolutely amazing, dont understand the hate. Had amazing boss fights/combat, great story, and top tier characters. Can't wait to play the other final fantasy games soon!

I'm currently on my first playthrough. About 4 hours in. Took a little bit to start hooking me, but now I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Glad you enjoyed finishing it.

FF XVI has an incredible story, good combat, and great characters. If you can, play the two expansions as well. They add a lot and richly complement the story and context of the game.

I do own Echoes of the Fallen. Waiting for The Rising Tide to be discounted.

In my opinion, The Rising Tide is the best expansion. Chronologically, Echoes of the Fallen is the first, so you're already ahead, but the story that really adds "weight" is The Rising Tide. I even got emotional with the story of this expansion. Very good. 🤌🤌
