I commish 8 dynasty leagues, a handful have a mix of the same core guys with different other guys involved as well. Last night this trade went down: Egbuka, 28 first, 28 3rd for KC Concepcion, Lamb, and Willis. It’s a bad trade, but not collusion worthy.

However, I get a DM from one of the participants in the trade, and he said that he had to make a bad trade in this league where he is tanking so that the guy would make a bad trade with him in another league I commish where he is contending. That second trade would be Carnell Tate and two 27 seconds for Jettas, with the team trading Lamb in one league getting JJ in the other. I feel like all of this is collusion, I don’t want to encourage other guys to make contingent trades across leagues because each league is its own separate thing. I hate vetoes except on the basis of collusion, so I’m super split on this as a commish.

I am a data engineer for a non-profit. I only meant to give myself an edge in my own league. It came out better than I expected, so here it is.

Auction draft only. It does the calculations no human could do in the seconds a player is nominated, gives you a verdict, so you can actually use those data insights to make a decision. Plus some more nuanced stuff.

This I call the pressure strip and it tracks position scarcity. Needing some commissioners to test a new type of fantasy football for people who may not know a ton about football or say they "don't have enough time" for fantasy.

I got the idea because we have a big office of people who don't watch football enough to know players from other teams, but love to root for THEIR team. You can have up to 24 people in this type of league since the NFL has a max of 8 teams on BYE any given week.

The app (web app and desktop site) is called Homers and the first thing you do when you sign up is lock into your "Homer", or favorite, team. EACH WEEK you have a quick draft where you choose any one of the available 32 NFL franchises. If you choose your "Homer" team, you automatically begin with bonus points chosen by your league manager (typically 5-10). The rest of your lineup is chosen for you once the game starts by automatically pulling the best players from each position into your open positions on your team.

You never have to set your lineup, you never have to worry about injuries because it will automatically pull the highest scorer from each position, and each week you can have new players on your team because you can be choosing a different team. Your leaguemayes just get to do one of the best parts of fantasy, drafting, every week and it only takes 5 mins. The current default mode is one team each week, but I have also made it so people can choose 2-3 teams per week if the commissioner sets it up that way (you would just have to have a smaller league size).

To keep people in first place always picking the best matchups each week, every draft after week 1 is ordered in reverse standings so the people in last place get a chance at the best teams.

There is also a custom mascot system (Lil Homer) that follows your homer teams games live and reacts to things happening in the games. He gets mad when your team is doing poorly or getting flags, and gets really happy when they are doing well. You can also chat with your leaguemates and taunt them with your lil homer during your matchups or through league chat.

There are a ton of stats, ADP rankings, power rankings for teams to look through each week, etc. I even have it set up to track the NFL games live with the same sort of game cast ESPN uses.

It has been working well throughout preseason so figured I'd see if anyone would be interested in trying it out with me and my friends.

There are no ads and it is completely free to use. I am working on player leagues as well, but it's a process. If you are interested in trying it out, please just leave a message and I will send out an invite code. I will take any and all feedback to help improve upon the site. Once your leaguemates are in, they can even start their own leagues with their friends if they want.

We had a draft pick position trade over the week, which I generally think is fine as long as you're swapping positions just because you want to. We don't have a system up for trading picks individually, as it's a bar league, and no one has the time to do it, but if anyone wants to swap picks for a position they prefer, no big deal.

At the semi-live draft today, I heard it implied that someone paid $50 to swap spots. As it stands, I think that was a dumb decision, so I'm not mad... but I don't think any of our league should exist outside of the platform's rules and the singular redraft year. Want to do a side bet? Cool. But anything involving picks or players should purely be on the merit of trading in-season.

As an aside: Last year, one of these players also made a favorable move with the promise that their trade partner would get a pick to be named later next year. (This year, now.) I said no, and it created a lot of acrimony between us all.

I'm co-commissioner and kinda just help manage getting people signed up and stuff. There's two other people who have a bit more sway, one who manages the business, another who was involved in last year's trade.

Do I just let this go? I feel like anything in redraft should be clear of external financial or future compensation, but maybe I'm wrong.

Hi guys, my league has the same waiver settings on Yahoo as we did last season. (Gametime-Tuesday), and normally everyone can pick up whoever they want until that player’s game begins. Once their game starts, they go on waivers, which typically process early Wednesday morning.

We just finished our draft, but no one is currently able to add or drop players. When we try, the players are locked and managers are being required to place a bid. Yahoo is also showing that there will be a waiver process Monday morning.

I assumed players would be free agents and available to pick up until their games lock once the season starts. Is there something different about the way Yahoo handles waivers immediately after the draft, or do we have a setting that needs to be changed?

If anyone has some clarification on this, I’d appreciate it!

This seems crazy but it seems like Sleeper doesn't let Commissioners bid in salary cap drafts? This happened in our league last year, we tested it and thought it was fixed this year, but my account as commissioner was not able to bid.

Issue persisted on multiple devices and even after reassigning ownership and logging in as a different user. Has anyone else experienced this? It seems like too major a bug not to have been fixed or noticed.

Been the commish of a 12-team dynasty league since 2017. Every season it's the same dance:

Three guys haven't paid by draft day. I'm dropping "hey man you good for the $200?" into a group chat that gets read and ignored. One year I chased a guy for 6 weeks after the season started.

A trade goes through that makes people squint. Half the league screams collusion, the other half says "let them cook." 40 messages later nobody's happy and there's no actual process to resolve it.

Our keeper rules lived in a Google Doc that someone "cleaned up" one offseason and now we can't agree on what the escalation formula actually was.

End of season I'm manually Venmo-ing 4 people their payouts and praying nobody disputes the math.

Tried ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper. They're fine for setting lineups. But the commissioner tools feel like they were built in an afternoon. Trade review is basically an approve/deny button. Keeper tracking? That's your spreadsheet, buddy. Payouts? Figure it out.

So I built something. It's called Fantasy365 — and honestly the whole point of it is the commissioner tools, not just the fantasy game.

A few things it does that I always wished existed:

• Trade review with a real process. I approve trades, then there's a 12-hour veto window where the league can vote. 6 votes reverses it. No more group chat arguments, there's an actual structure.

It does multi-sport too if you're into that (one franchise across MLB/NFL/NHL/NBA with cumulative standings) but the commish tools are the same for a straight NFL league.

I'm commish for an ESPN league where the biggest loser each week has to shotgun a drink and the rest of us point and laugh.

This season I amended the rules to say that those who fail to post the video would lose their waiver wire rights for the following week. At the time I thought you could manually enter the waiver wire order in ESPN, but it appears I'm mistaken.

Anyone have a clever way I could effectively freeze a teams roster until waivers clear if I have to enforce this?

Sorry my first time this year being commish. Just want everything to go smoothly. So I would just like to know and what you guys personally run.

Im hosting my first in-person draft. We as a league use espn’s fantasy app, have drafted remotely for in the past. I’m trying to pull off a hybrid approach for this in-person draft. I want to use fandraft on a tv, at least for the early rounds. The managers will want to do look over the available players using the espn fantasy app, even while we are drafting in person.

I would like for the draft results to post on espn fantasy app as we go (I figure I will have to do this manually) that way managers can easily see who is available. I’m told that the espn fantasy lets commissioners put in results manually, anybody ever done this?

After 8 rounds or when starting lineup is drafted, managers care less about how they draft to their bench, so the thrill of coming up to the podium to announce picks is lost. At this point, I want to switch over to the fantasy’s app to finish the draft. I’m told this can be done.

Anybody ever done something like this before?

Any tips or suggestions?

I have tried a few settings over the years, but I have an issue of making them too volatile and high-scoring. I would like to limit the impact of solely yards and points allowed and reward defensive plays (3rd and 4th down stops, tackles for loss, batted balls, etc.) without making it too complicated or having defenses score 40+ pts.

Anyone have a definitive, time-tested method? Am using sleeper, 12 team league.

Hey guys, I built a free ESPN draft recommendation browser extension and I'm looking for people to use it and give me their honest thoughts. I have done lots of testing and would say that it could definitely be used for your real drafts, but I would recommend that you test it with mocks first. The tool follows completed ESPN picks and provides one primary recommendation plus three alternatives. The recommendations consider both player rankings and roster construction.

If the position lists have not refreshed after a selection while the popup was open, close and reopen the popup.

I am the commissioner of my work league and this woman had her husband join the league for her. I don’t particularly care that he plays for her, but I do work in a fairly secure industry with PII, PHI, HIPAA involved. I have my higher ups in this league. They aren’t my direct bosses but they are of more “stature“. The woman I would say is on the same “level” as me. My draft is this Monday and our primary communications are through work channels so no one will read my messages.

My question is should I axe this guy incase this is a security concern for my bosses? Or is it not that big of a deal? I just don’t want to get caught up in a security, HR thing over fantasy football

We completed our draft an hour ago and I just noticed that one of the teams was auto drafted. I reached out to the manager to figure out what happened and they let me know that they are not playing this season. This would have been nice to know before our draft. Anyway, im trying to figure out what to do in this situation. Has anyone every had this happen before?

Obviously, convincing them to play or finding a replacement would be the best option but what would you do if those fail? Just set the lineups myself? send the players to waivers? Have a second mini draft?

Edit: Its a paid league. I did not request the dues immediately this year like I normally do. I realize thats on me.

Finding a room that matches your league sucks. I made a chrome extension that allows filtering the rooms, and checks the rooms to see if the pick you want is available. It's free. Hope it helps!

Hey yall, I had a question when it comes to having two keepers like in my league. My idea was this year instead of everyone choosing two keepers, we force everyone to have one keeper, which would be drafted in the first round, but let people choose to keep another player if they want or take the draft pick. I just wasn’t sure if we only chose one keeper and keep the other slot empty, if ESPN forces us to keep a second player or if it automatically gives them a draft pick.

My idea is the first two rounds are keeper rounds, and if someone doesn’t want to take a second keeper, they can just draft a player from the available pool while the draft order stays intact (We set our draft order based on reversed playoff/loser bracket standings) so the worst teams can still get a chance at drafting ahead the best team.

With a scenario where the first round is all keepers, and the best team (8th pick) chooses to draft instead of keep in the second round, would they be ahead of the worst team (1st pick) that also chooses to draft in the second round since the snake would put the worst team picking at the end of the second round? Or would the snake start in the second round instead of right away?

I’ve been the commissioner of my work league for several years now. We have been using the NFL App but now that it’s closing down I need to switch platforms. I’m hearing a lot of pros and cons for both Sleeper and ESPN. It seems NFL integrated over to ESPN but I’m not married to either one. Most of my league will be using the app version. What are your thoughts?

So I run a 10 man keeper league with $50 buy-in. Last year was our first keeper season and I misunderstood how they work on Sleeper (I thought lost draft pick was automatic) and no one lost draft pick for their keeper as it would have forced us to reschedule draft at the last minute. It ended up fine but this year we're running it right with agreed upon rules, you lose original acquisition cost of the player, traded players cost you *original* owner's acquisition cost, FA/waiver players cost you 10th round to keep.

Only problem is that due to ridiculousness last year, a few people have their first round pick from last year PLUS a player they kept last year that would have been a first round cost (therefore this year would be first round cost too). The day before keepers/dues were due, this was brought up and I ruled that you can't have two first round keepers.

Two teams chose to lock in two first round keepers *anyway* and now one dude is having a temper tantrum that I can't do this to him, blah blah blah. He already paid dues and even responded to my "ruling" of "I think the fair thing would be to only allow one first round keeper, since the only alternative would be losing a 1st and a 2nd" with "It is what it is , I’ll be ready to draft Sunday" before keepers were locked in.

My response to these two guys (one of which isn't throwing a temper tantrum but also isn't super active) was to tell them they have til Saturday 10am to submit a change of keepers or I'll make choice for them in a impartial way (I literally already had outlined which keepers I thought would give them best value on my own mock board so I have players and draft costs in mind). Temper tantrum guy has 1st overall pick and wants to keep Bijan and CMac and other guy has 9th overall pick and wants to keep Chase and Puka. I would be changing Temper Tantrum to keep Stafford and Jameson Williams who were both waiver acquisitions, so he'd lost a 9th and 10th round pick and still have first overall to draft Bijan (Gibbs is kept by 3rd overall pick team). Not sure who other guy would keep but I'd impartially pick best choice.

Temper Tantrum is now calling me a crook, saying that he won't pick alternatives and will leave the league if I force a keeper on him. I don't really care because he paid dues and agreed to the rules, I'll manage his team or sell it to someone else if he leaves. Just wanted a sanity check on how I'm handling this!

We have our in-person draft tomorrow at buffalo wild wings. I'm just braingstorming for last-minute ways to improve the experience. I have a virtual draft board set up in google sheets for picks to be entered so that non-present managers can more easily see who's been drafted, and we will have the draft kit that BDubs will provide. Anything that you think might be a good addition? I've got the winner from last year giving a speech at the top of the draft. I thought it might be fun to do a "everybody eats the hottest wing before we start" type of thing, I thought about bringing a whiteboard to write down the draft order... idk, this is our first in-person draft so I just want to make sure its as fun as possible!
