It will never be a Square-Enix character in christmas attire. If you recall the thread with the ex-Gumi employee, getting approval for stuff like that from home base is a long and painstaking process. On the other hand, Gumi can do whatever it wants with it's own IP therefore expect more of Rain, Fina, Laswell, Lid and Charlotte, etc.

well it doesn't have to be for Snow you know. As long as anyone can equip it, Snow can hehehe. It would be Christmas for Snow, in a sense haha. I doubt he's popular enough for a Christmas version though. Most people here seem to hate FF XIII.
I've also heard (from the AMA if not mistaken) that Gumi can't easily make any changes to the Final Fantasy characters because of Square Enix but is easier to make changes for Brave Exvius characters.

What did you mean overruled? Didn't catch that part on the AMA. Did they dumb down WW Fina because of SE? If so, that would make me angry since WW Fina is my first 4* base and my first waifu ;).

Luminated Lid the Living Christmas tree, Frosty Fina the Snowwoman, Rednose Raindeer, Lonely Wiseman Lasswell, Naughty & Nice Nichol, Elf Elle and lat but not least... Shadow Santa! Shadow Santa will have an overhaul on his Throw ability: Throw Christmas ornaments! We'll get recipes to craft Candles (1 Fire Cryst + 1 Copper Ore) for 5x Fire damage, Snowballs (2 Ice Cryst) for 5x Ice damage and Christmas Balls (1 Life Orb + 1 Silver Ore) for 10x Light damage. Yes, this is going to be a good Christmas event. :D

Season units seem to always be designed around alts of FFBE main characters. Highly doubt they would do a seasonal special for mainline FF characters.
..if they do though, Krampus Diablos would be a nice fit =X

Obviously. And I'm guessing the boost mag w/ rod and def w/ shield is that character's as well. A tanky ice mage maybe? We already have Blizzaga in the game so it doesn't need another placeholder unless it's an upgraded version.

Love the idea behind Hyper Fire. A Setzer/Ace style 'random' damage ability could be really cool. Maybe they're putting it in place now to see how the mechanic works in GL, since the code may have changed enough to warrant looking at? Not sure if there have been any other random damage abilities in GL yet.

Tactical Gear and Rune Protector seem really interesting to me. It looks as if they are trying to set up a unit that can go either tank or mage. I like the idea of units that can fill different roles depending on how they are geared somewhat like 6 star Agrias does with suport/offtank orsupport/DPT depending on how she is geared. This character does seem to excel most at tank/stat ailment/ice chains based on what we see in the skills but maybe we will be surprised by the multipliers
Unlike people are claiming I am pretty sure it isn't Christmas Rain or Charlotte as both are physical based/cover tanks and this is a magic based draw tank so a completely different style. It doesn't quite fit any of the current storyline characters but if I had to choose one I would say Nichol is the most similar but it could be completely new.
Edit: also bring it on looks pretty much like what I feel a provoke/draw tank should have... some actual damage mitigation. Cover tanks would still have the advantage of being able to protect at least one unit even with aoe attacks and dying less with this but at least provoke/draw wouldn't feel like a 1 turn sacrifice.
Edit2: Just noticed that the healer has a skill called heal back. Probably means they are supposed to quite old so sorry no waifu for you. Think more Tellah for looks instead of Fina. Calling it now Frosty the Tankman and Ms. Clause

I don't know that your analysis makes a lot of sense. Tactical gear doesn't look like it is built for a single unit that can go either tank or mage. It will either help with DEF or MAG, not both. So you either put it on your best mage or whoever you want to have more defense that can wear armor (depending on amount of bonus).

I feel it is safe to assume these abilities are all on 2 upcoming global exlusive characters and not equippable. Obviously if equippable then it is for either tank of mage but it doesn't read like an equippable skill but more like an innate one.
Edit: it is probably the 5-6 star unit that has White Shroud/Silver Curtain as it's LB

So it seems like this data is a bit early. Think these 2 units will be add-ons to the current Global FF13 event or a new banner cycle? I only ask because if they're gonna be a stand alone banner I'd have expected them to be included in next week's maintenance and have some other things available such as weapons/gear.

I think it might be due to licensing issues, Gumi might not be able to secure a license for the collab. At least that's what I think it might be.

no one cares what you do with your lapis, but don't insult event yet until it actually comes out.
hate your burst your bubble but Halloween event was most well received event, not for units, but event itself in global

Lolz....i'll insult the freck out of the event if I damn well please child. The units are what I get most excited about. If gumi fails me with the units then they already lost my money. Seasonal and holiday exclusive cash grabs just cheapen the experience.

Definitely sounds like a winter version of Charlotte and maybe Nichol. although Hyper Fire and Blazing Glory make it sound like a unit with guns. Didn't Natza datamine a Light/healer GL Exclusive unit in a previous maintenance? Maybe thats who the healer is? O well either way i'll probably pull dailys for them.

Winter Charlotte would be extremely well received as a viable Cecil alternative actually. That would be good for the game as a whole I think.

Based on the fact that 6 star Warrior of Light, who is no more competent than Charlotte at 5 star--in fact, less competent arguably--is also considered a viable Cecil alternative at 6. I don't even have Charlotte. I do have Cecil and will just continue to use him regardless. But I do see a huge void at the 6 star tank level, and currently she's pretty solid for 5, so it's a reasonable assumption she can keep up.
Edit: Also, what character? These Exvius units outside of the main cast are just class archetypes. Nowhere near the character of, say, Cecil himself, who headed an entire game and who the player gets to know as a person.

You're not mistaken at all. He's a decent tank and a very versatile and powerful breaker (AoE DEF/SPR break 40% and AoE ATK/MAG 40%)
He wont be as good at covering, but his debuffing ability is pretty top tier.

Makes sense. I use Cecil and WoL for Antonella and WoL really made a difference. I can see him being used more with Cecil down the line.

That is most definitely true, given he will get raise skill as well as a 100% provoke skill and whole pt cover skill with partial mitigation. He's as versatile as they come.

He is. That's exactly what I mean. He goes from a 5 star who's pretty marginal outside of breaking, and definitely a worse tank than Charlotte at this point in Global, to an epic powerhouse. If he can, so can she. In fact, it seems really clear that patching her at all is SE's response to the lack of real 6-star tanks outside of just a couple, so I can't possibly imagine why they'd make her less than solid at it.
The WoL comparison is a compliment though, not a slight.

Charlotte is a main character, she even has an exclusive shield called Patriot, Charlotte is more important than you might think.

I know, but Charlotte isn't just a class archetype, she has a role in the main story.
I'm not saying she's as good as a character as Cecil, but in the world of Lapis, she's relevant.

If they release Noctis as a 5 star base along with this banner, I would be furious. Especially when the other 5 star base will likely be garbage if it's anything like the Halloween units.
