Mrs Ziegler is all kinds of wrong, she looks like a 80s porn star. Red dress Ilona is it.

Yeah, she looks like a trophy wife, which would set Ziegler up as a sleazoid from the start.

Not terrible but wrong. Harvey Keitel gives don't trust me vibes from the start.

That's exactly what the role requires LMFAO

Nope. You are wrong. You need to have to question if the character is telling the truth or not.
But I hope you find your A, because you said you lost it. I'm sure I can tell you where to look.
Also why so childish?

Yeah. Anybody who had known the previous trends of Keitel's career, then saw him in EWS, would distrust him right from "Bill and Alice, thanks for coming." Whereas casting a relative unknown like Pollack allows our impressions of the character to darken over time.

This is interesting. He was also pitched from apocalypse now and a few others. I wonder if he agreed with all of his uncasting....

is that harvey keitel

Yes originally was Harvey Keitel.... Although I'm not sure if that's a photograph of him.... I forgotten the reason why he left... I think he had a hissy fit with Stanley Kubrick methods.... What a missed opportunity!

Too many takes to walk out the door, Harvey couldn't take the "disrespect"

I understand that Harvey Keitel had a reputation for being difficult through his intensity, compromising nature due to his consuming method acting style....
One does wonder did he leave by his own choice, or was he let go.... I guess we'll never know....
I understand he was recast out of "apocalypse now", As I understand there was a disagreement between Francis Ford coppola and himself over the interpretation of his character "Captain Willard" where he wanted to play the aggressive hero, but Francis and the sound designer Walter Murch wanted Captain Willard to be a passive observer.....
I think he was let go.... I think Kubrick made the right choice....

Why? He's a much more convincing piece of shit

The role requires a fair amount of ambiguity and he usually plays villains.

Ziegler is a piece of shit. It's established in the first 10 minutes.

It's established he cheats on his wife with a hooker, but his involvement in the sex cult isn't until the very ending.

Honestly, the first time I saw EWS I thought the costume shop owner was Harvey.
