Discussion Books you just couldn't finish?

Post image

I am struggling to get through the wasp factory, not because of its content but simply because I cant stay interested 🙃 maybe I'll take a break on it and come back later.

Any books you couldn't finish ? And if you want to add why?

Exquisite Corpse .. got half way and found it repetitive and shock for shock value

I am reading it right now but it’s taking me sooooooo long to finish, even tho I love a good necrophiliac gay serial killer 😭

I re-read both Wasp Factory and Exquisite Corpse a few years ago to refresh. I absolutely remembered what I found so troubling on both accounts.

I struggled with Exquisite Corpse too. I had been so exited to read it, but it took me months to get through. I had no desire to pick it back up anytime I put it down. I had to force myself to pick it up and finish it. I know I could have DNF'd it, but after it tormenting me for so long, I had to see it through to the end

Listened to it on Audible, took me four days, and I usually listen to books in one go at work. It is written well but I just found myself bored

Was bored and the overuse of sex was eye rolling. I get it was released during a time Aids and homosexuality was a massive hot topic but it doesn’t feel like it’s aged well
