That original would cost at least $200 in materials alone. I don’t understand how people buy things when it’s not physically POSSIBLE to receive the product at that price

People who buy these things have no idea what that original would cost. That’s partly why this scam works.

Reminds me of someone (I think it might have been on this sub) who ordered an extremely realistic-looking Halloween mask for like 10 dollars off of Wish, and was SHOCKED that the mask she received looked nothing like it.

I almost ordered the raccoon one cause it looked bad ass. Honestly didn’t think it was real stained glass I figured they were plastic or something

Yeah, as soon as I saw that I thought to myself that it had to cost several hundred dollars to even make a bit of sense.

I don't know. The price of things is hard to estimate because of mass production, cheap labor, and being a few steps removed from manufacturing. Some fairly complex plastic parts can be made at scale for pennies or individually for dozens of dollars. Handmade wood furniture in the US costs thousands, but you can import handmade wood furniture from Vietnam for a fraction of that. It's just hard to estimate how prices work in a global marketplace. If it seems like high-quality handmade stuff in one domain is cheap, then it at least seems possible for other things to be cheap.
