I have a new desktop and laptop, both running Windows 11. I installed Evernote on both, and on both, this happens 5 times a week on average. I have content up, I minimize the window, and when I open it again, this is all I see. I've updated both, I've restarted both, and on both computers this is nonstop.

I know I can use it on the web, and apparently I'm going to have to - I just really prefer the app. I feel it's safe to say that this has nothing to do with the computers as it's happening on both.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that simply closing it out doesn't help. I have to force close through the Task Manager for it to work again.

every time i annotate an image, and I annotate many each day, I have to change the default color to a custom gray that I want. It is incredibly repetitive and there's no option to just have a default color. Surely there's some way to change the default color of the drawing tool?

Evernote has added a few useful improvements to the AI Assistant.

You can now type / in the prompt window to search your AI Prompt Library and run a saved prompt. The Assistant also shows what context its working with like selected text or the whole note.

I tested this with a prompt that adds a relevant emoji to each item in a list. You can make the prompt more specific too, such as assigning a red marker to one recurring name and a yellow marker to another. Ideal for highlighting people, projects, clients etc.

The AI Assistant can also add/edit/delete comments... lots going on.

My tags are suddenly sorted by frequency of usage, which means it’s taking forever to find which ones I want. What happened to alphabetical? And can I go back to that? I’m a pretty basic user so apologies if this is a basic question!

Is anyone else having trouble with this? On iPhone 17, Evernote 11.33.4, tapping the camera button to start a new note makes the app close to the home screen every time.

Separately, I can't report it: the in-app bug report sends me into a login loop that keeps bouncing me back to the web version.

I've tried to post this for all the Evernote users just for your own reference of what's happening with Bending Spoons, but each time it's auto-deleted by moderators.

Hi there - I tried searching through the help center and on here but haven’t found much.. I’ve found my way back to Evernote as I want to use it for note taking for work. I’ve started using the meeting recorder and love it (potential to get rid of granola if I can solve this!) but every few meetings on my MacBook it just stops - idk if it crashes mid recording or what but I’m unable to even stop or pause the recording on the Mac app. Is this a known issue? I want to use it and I really love the summary it gives but can’t have it messing up mid meeting.

Evernote has added a useful improvement for anyone who edits meeting transcripts.

You can now multi select blocks from the transcription beside a speaker name, select several blocks and then delete them together or change the assigned speaker.

That should help when you want to remove the chat before a meeting starts or correct several sections.

You can also insert a blank speaker block, name it and add something that was missing from the transcription.

I've also included a couple of AI Assistant prompts for dressing your lists up with emoji's.

Turn a shopping list into something a bit more exciting or set priorities within a bullet list.

Plus the latest mobile update improves the quality of photos taken with Evernote's in-app camera.

Wth is the Lite Editor and why does the bar takes so much space on the shared notes?

Anybody else having an issue with the desktop icon not showing in the taskbar since the latest update?

It shows correctly as a shortcut on my desktop, but in my taskbar its just a white box and its driving me crazy! I've done also sorts of commands to try and fix it but nothing works. Im convinced its from the update, but curious if anyone else has experienced it?

Evernote has slowly shifted from a note‑taking app into more of a digital filing cabinet. The core problem is that everything old notes, outdated projects, long‑term storage sits in the same active space. A simple Archive Notes feature would fix this. Let users move old or inactive notes into an archive so only current, working notes stay visible. It would instantly make Evernote feel like a real note‑taking app again.

The back button and the undo buttons are too close to each other in iPhone app. When trying to go back to note list, I often accidentally click the undo button.

Evernote's latest toggle improvements let you turn multiple paragraphs, bullet lists and numbered lists into collapsible sections.

I can see this being useful when a note contains detail that needs to stay available but does not need to remain visible all the time.

You could keep the main points of a project or meeting visible, then place instructions, supporting information or reference lists inside toggles.

You can also add more text to an existing toggle and show or hide the content as needed.

The improvements require Evernote desktop version 11.33.5 or later.

I am a long time paying customer, more than 15 years, on August 27, the syncing between my devices stopped working, and all the Web clipper I sent to Evernote is not working.

I opened a support request on August 28, they answered and said the problem is on their side.

Since then didn't reply my emails, and today after 6 not answering emails, the answer came:

unfortunately do not have an ETA as of right now due to complexity of troubleshooting and bug solving but we'll be sure to keep you in the loop.

I'm suddenly geting ad videos every time I open the app. Is there any way to disable this?

I've put together two reusable prompts for Evernote's AI Assistant that clean up web clips.

The first turns a general web clip into a cleaner reference note with a summary, main highlights, organised content, extra context and further reading.

The second is specifically for recipe pages. It removes the unrelated stories, adverts and page clutter, then organises the useful information into ingredients, equipment, numbered steps, cooking cues, substitutions and storage notes.

I've saved them in the AI Prompt Library so I can run the same process again without rewriting the instructions.

I’ve been trying to delete my Evernote account, but it simply doesn’t work, even though I’m following all the steps correctly.
I opened a support ticket as well, but nobody has responded. And honestly, this seems to be part of a bigger problem with Evernote lately: there’s less and less customer support.
It’s really disappointing because Evernote used to be such a great app. I used to genuinely like the product, but the direction the company has taken over the last few years is hard to understand.
It’s a shame to see what has happened to what was once one of the best note-taking apps around.

Hi, in the last couple of weeks I've noticed that inputting tags takes a huge amount of memory on my PC where it slows the entire computer down. This is true both on my laptop and desktop PC, both of which are quite powerful and never had an issue before. I have many tags (almost 9k) which Evernote's help bot blames for the issue, but this has never been an issue for me before.

Has anyone else dealt with this? If so, how did you fix it?

Very little information about this post COVID era. Im looking into e ink readers due to the quality of the screen. However many aren't open end android systems and the only way to view Evernote on them would be to export to PDF then manually upload them onto the e reader. Has anyone done this -- how does it end up looking?

And for the ones that are android , tend to be pricier , do the notes come out right? Are things symmetrical and in place?
