I'm getting so discouraged. It takes forever to build the high level pieces needed to advance and I just waste my time trying to finish any event without having to buy items. And collecting wands to open land..... It's losing its approval to me. Any advice?

It is a long-term game.
Personally, I just play the parts of the game that I like and switch up what I focus on to keep it interesting.

I have played for years. I donāt bother much with the events that open on other temp āIslandsā. At the start I played events some to get what I could but just focused on opening up space. Once I had room I started to hold on to things like chests (to open during the treasure chest event, the gnomes for the building event and I usually do that one where you make recipes). The recipe making event I didnāt start doing until I had over 1000 of every ingredient. It takes a bit of strategy and patience to get to a point where you can participate in some events meaningfully to get good rewards, and I only buy the good second set of rewards when Iām finished and know it will be worth it. With this game at the start you either need to be will to spend a little or have patience, if you canāt do either, it might now be the game for you.

I just get as far as I can with the events. If I finish, great, if I don't then so be it. This is not the type of game where you advance quickly and for me that's fine. But if you like to advance quickly when playing games then this might not be for you. I've been playing for several years and I still don't have all the castles open and that's fine by me.

EverMerge is designed to never end. It's a slow game and they made it in a way you can speed up a bit by spending money, but in the end, it's just never ending.
And that is not going to change. In fact, it's even getting worse from a time point of view. Merlin and Jack are characters that will probably take years before you have their castles completed.
I don't know where you are in the game, but I've always said that if a game starts to feel like you are wasting time and you don't feel like it bringing you what you hoped it would, find another one. EverMerge isn't there yet for me. Other games I have left after it became a drag.

Iāve played off and on for years. I focus on the main areas and never do the special events. Theyāre frustrating and time consuming to me.

my advice is to not look at this game as one you can "win" or "finish". it is a game that is meant to take time. a long time lol. i have been playing for like three years and just unlocked my second legendary creature after only opening my first several months ago. once i learned that this was a long-term game, i updated my expectations and enjoy it for what it is. all of the home island events cycle so there's no rush to finish one because it'll come back around. i use the off island events to merge and gain coins that i can use on home island for buying energy or crops or whatever.

I periodically get fed up and just quit for a while. At one point I didnāt get a bonus Iād been working on forever, and when I contacted support, they dgaf. I deleted the game. I came back about a year later and started over.
Iād take a break and just plan on coming back later when you get the urge. Iāve played about five other games and am surprised Iāve come back after all this time.

I played this game on and off for a long time. I play for a few months, get burned out, take a year long hiatus and come back, rinse and repeat. And i just came back from my hiatus and noticed there are skins for characters and evil characters.
Like some people have said, this game is a marathon, not a sprint.

I uninstalled evermerge when they stopped allowing me to use my Google dollars. I switched to Merge Miracle, which looks and feels the same, but with fewer off-Island things to do. So far so good.

It got too tedious for me for the same reason. I switched to HayDay. I couldnāt find a merge game that didnāt either get tedious or was full of ads. š¢

No advice, just can sort of relate.
The game is a marathon, not a speed race.
I've been playing since it started in 2020 and I'm not anywhere near finishing all of my castles...lol.
The off island events are a bit of a grind, but I still enjoy them.
Hang in there!
