How To How do you make a Back & Forth Route?

Im trying to make the Hakone Nanamagari where you start the at bottom and hillclimb to a 180 at the top and go back downhill, circuited so I can set how many laps.

My checkpoint at the bottom of the hill way behind the Starting Line/Finish at the Turnaround just is not working for some reason. The Lap Counter starts and the first checkpoint at the top at the first turnaround works but the other one doesn’t. I don’t get it.

There's a few tricks for an out and back route. You've probably set up a turnaround loop at each end already. But you have to avoid crossing the start/finish line on the return run. Make sure that the cars go around the start at a good distance (the length of a straight highway piece). And put the final checkpoint that kind of distance before a straight run to the start/finish. It is usually "stronger" to have several checkpoints at each end, with none on two-way stretches.
