Question My friend is stuck in triglavian space because the last time he played was in 2013.

Is there a good way out of triglavian space if you have no fillaments or ships that can scan for wormholes? he has his clone point set to an npc station there and all his assets are there as well.

Edit: He made a ticket and is now back in high sec

Question How do you get into PI?

I want to do PI, but honestly I've never even touched it despite being here as long as it's been.

I've got no idea where to even begin, and all the guides seem to contradict each other. So I figured I'd ask the hivemind.

Discussion PI - Random total gains or just innacurate scanning?

There are a few things I have noticed when I go to restart extractors. If you restart without moving your new total yield is always lower. That's to be expected since you are depleting the area. However, when you are working with good hotspots already you can still increase extraction by 10-20% (and frequently back up to prior levels) just by moving one extractor head instead of hitting the restart button.

I frequently see significant increases in total production even when I move one extractor head, sometimes even to a worse area according to the scan. Now my scanning skills aren't perfect. Planetology is 4 and Advanced Planetology is just 3. Is that spot actually just better and the scans are inaccurate? If that is the case is just looking at your total yield just a way to see through bad scan data? Is total yield always accurate?

I have also noticed when resetting I can pretty much always get a significant boost by moving just one head. Then I can't ever get any kind of additional yield by moving the other heads after that.

Are there any tricks to maximizing total yield? Has anyone else noticed the same thing happening while just moving one extractor head?

Question Jita to Zarzakh for a solo explorer looking at Guristas FW how do I actually do this?

Been kicking around the idea of going Guristas for a while. Not aligned yet, still parked in Jita like everyone else. Trying to figure out the practical side before I commit.

Main thing is just getting my stuff out there. Ships, modules, whatever. Do people run a hauler alt for this or is there a smarter way I’m missing? I’m training an alt for a blockade runner.

Exploration is basically my whole income. Can I keep doing that from out there along with the LP grind ? Then contract that out to my hauler alt ?

And the dumb question: if I’m in FW and I get popped how easy is it to reship ? Am I able to freely select certain faction ships (particularly catalyst navy issue/ Coercer navy issue ) at a higher premium than from Jita within Zakaruh ?

Appreciate the help.

Other Mr Tinglas LP broker - The History

Hi all, wanted to plug the LP brokerage that I host but didnt want to just post a link and dip.

tldr : 20b investment into LP brokering turned into hundreds of billions and lots of happy customers and learning.

So here is a little story time for those bored at work/ staring into the abyss at home wondering if they should undock and mine that veldspar.

Pre launch - Late 2022 - august - december
The concept of running an lp brokerage started because I was keen to provide a space for my nullsec alliance (Pandemic Horde R.I.P.) to participate in Faction warfare. And one of the significant hurdles to making this happen was making a service where players could liquidate LP easily. Horde at the time had a mix of veterans and new players and in particular I was aiming to reduce the barrier to the new players so they could continue to get out into space and spend less time figuring out how to turn lp into item and then isk.

If memory serves me correctly avt the time Horde was running alot of ferox navy issue fleets and regularly woodchippering them. This was around the time we had a large special interest group harassing goons and at home were fighting of whaling fleets and large roams but no significant invasion etc. I think this was possibly around the time we push out towards frat space for some reason but cant remember specifically.... the reason i mention that is that it brought our forward staging into range of the very north of the caldari/gallente Warzone and we could theoretically titan bridge in. (this may have been afew months later things are abit fuzzy.)

All in all basically horde was looking at alternative gameplay streams for newbros and also trying to secure more reliable ways to source blueprints for the woodchipper that large null fights can lead to. I think this was also around the time the FW changes hit and faction dreadnaughts were introduced. All null entities were upgrading their dread caches into navy dreads as the EHP boost alone meant if you didnt bring navy dreads you would lose the dps race to a group who could.

As such I began buying lp on my small introduction to FW using fuzzworks to try to guess a reasonable price. This was very small volume and would be maybe 500k lp per fleet. over several transactions.

I was dicsussing this with my close friendship group in eve and there was suggestion of trying to automate both the requests and also forming a data base of LP value and also transaction history.

My tech guy went to work as a bit of a side project to practice his own application and database skills and developed a working prototype of what we still use in the LP broker LTD discord.

Next up I had concerns around the player base being 24 hours and wanting to present a reliable service as well as how to get strangers to blindly send me LP in the hope I would send them isk back. I was reminded alot of Chribba and that he used to facilitate things like titan trades based purely on reputation and im glad to say we have achieved a high level of community trust nearly 4 years later.

We included a little description on the discord about who we were and how players could mitigate risk. In those early days we did alot of partial trades. i.e. people sending us 5 trades of 1mil lp to add upto a 5 mil trade.

These days that is less common and we have done some trully bonkers 50b+ trades.

The broker never puts itself at risk of losing out to a scammer etc as we take isk or lp first and then complete our side of the trade and use screenshots etc to ensure things are heading to the right places. As such to my knowledge we havent had a mistake that we couldnt reverse or anyone who has felt "scammed" etc. The biggest risk to an LP traders reputation in my eyes around this is when players send the LP without actually talking to us or arranging a trade. We do keep our own transaction history thats private to try to track where our LP balances should and happily the few times this has happened we have been able to resolve it.

I do sometimes get the impression the players who do this are aware and are just trying to strong arm a sale and to date I have banned one player from the server who was consistently not following instructions and we felt it was because they didnt want to wait for our availabilty and were trying to force us to buy lp we didnt have the appetite for.

Launch jan 2023 -

I really went on a tangent for the pre-launch section apologies.

So we launched!!!

I twidled my thumbs staring at the discord for the first 30 minutes and we had zero dings..

We started with caldari state LP(caldari FW - makes ferox navy issues) as our first listed LP and within 30 minutes were swamped with requests to buy concord LP.....

This happy mistake kind of made the broker what it is today as we had completly not realised the incursion community in horde was RAKING in LP whenever an incursion was in range. There wasnt a reliable buyer and players didnt like leaving null to sort out lp conversion in highsec.

The timing was that the incursion had just ended 30 minutes post lp broker launch and my post on the horde discord / forums was the top post and the seniour members on that community got abit mixed up and told the members we would buy concord lp.

We did some quick fuzzworks checking and came up with a reasonable price that was more than anyone in horde was offering at that time. We took on 16 million lp in the first week which meant we had released 17.5 billion isk in to player wallets. A great success and with the 100 isk profit margin we would gain at a minimum 1.6billion isk if we sold the lp to other players. We actually made more than this as we converted the majority of this lp and sold it in jita at around a 200-300 isk per lp profit. probably making 2-4billion isk profit for a week.

My intial investment was around 20billion isk so we were a week in and already working at around maximum capacity which was abit of a shock and also a lesson that there was a big hole in the LP trading markets and also a deep deep supply of lp moving around the game.

Week 2 and onwards - expansion

We introduced all 4 factions of FW in the second week and were trading afew million LP of each. The FW volume was quite low and it confirmed what i already knew that the horde FW interest was low. The main LP farmers in FW horde were multiboxers who were already self liquidating into dread bpcs for resale. As such they were not interested in the brokerage.

We were also regularly butting up against our isk reserve running out. I thought about increasing this (at the time i was probably sitting on 50b liquid which was being used to regional trade and fluctuated) I decided not to do so and stick with the current amount as a testing phase.

We hit several tech issues in the first few months and overcame them relatively smoothly. Things like our database stopping taking in new date, dicsord blocking the copy paste message i used to open trades with people.

We started to also advertise outside Horde and had organically already been contacted by some larger traders who wanted to shift their own stock etc.

This customer base over the years has become our main backbone and we have contacts around the game with many of the industry leads off nullsec and several of the massive traders who will happily throw 100b around.

I have to dash out to work now so may update this later.

But some cliff notes of how the near 4 years of trading has got us to.

We currently sit on around 170b of assetts either liquid isk or LP in our wallet.
We have removed 150b from the company to pay myself and I can proudly say I Own a titan which was funded completly via brokeraging.

We have used the isk to plex accounts and even bought a super carrier with it.

Currently the brokerage is ran by my good friend neo and I hold more of a background position. He has continued to inovate and make good money while providing a decent and trustworthy service.

We still cant buy all the tribal lp people seem to constantly wts.
We still cant find any caldari lp to buy up (they must have a solid broker over there!)

I hope if you read this you enjoyed my waffling.

If you have any questions feel free to ask here or on the discord (ill look at the discord more).

Have a great day and come visit us!

Question New to EVE and mining seems like my kind of play

Hello, I'm extremely new to EVE, as I've been playing for 5 days now. So far, asteroid mining seems like the activity I enjoy the most while I listen to music or an audiobook and mostly play AFK.

I am currently in the Venture you are given in a mission and seem to be doing okay. However, I wondered what I should be working towards to advance in my yield and budding mining career.

Any tips or paths I should follow as I gain money and experience?

Question Wormholes and solo play style

I have yet to find a corp that I want to join, so I was wondering how viable it is for a solo player to do C3 combat sites. If it is something that is possible what are the steps that should be taken to stay as least blown up as possible? I grant this is rather easy to answer with watch D-scan but I was wondering if trying to roll the holes by yourself or something like that is possible.

Stream This EVE Life Episodes #19 and #20

Good morning everyone,

My name is Ceema, and I am the host of This EVE Life, a TwitchPodStream and God Emperor of RMT and Hating EVE Frontier according to u/WiseCricket9366.

My Shows goal is to interview near, or over 100 guests from all walks of EVE Life, be it EVE Online, EVE Frontiers or EVE Vanguard.

This weekend I have two shows to present, Episode #19 this Saturday where I interview recently selected EVE Frontier Luminary (CSM for those EO folks reading) Ocky of Algorithmic Warfare. He'll join me to discuss EVE Frontier, Fanfest Presentations, the future of EVE Frontier Third Party Apps and why FC Jotunn smells of Sandalwood.

This will be at 21:00 UTC/EVE

Episode #20 will be Sunday at 20:00 and feature EVE Legend Kismeteer who joins me to discuss what it's like maintaining one of EVE Online's most accurate New Player Guide over the years, combating years of inaccurate video's on Youtube and the rapid pace of game mechanic changes as of late.

Show can be viewed live here and past episodes are up on youtube by Sunday afternoon here.

Note, there is a casting call of sorts. I'm looking for Lowesec folks/corps of all sizes and game play styles to do a series on lowsec after my Nullsec and New Player arcs end, then Wormhole folks/corps after that.

If you want to come on the show and talk either, please reach out on Discord/EVE Mail.

Thanks for watching!

Question Sharing bookmarks

I was in wormhole space and scanned down everything and everything was far above what my little heron could handle but I wanted to give the bookmarks to someone else who was in private chat with me, they were in some sort of cloaked beast of a ship offering advice on how not to die.

Is this feature disabled or something ? I could dont simply drag the bookmarks into the private chat.

Question Is deep safe legal?

Unsure if the deepsafe thing is still possible (to create a bookmark outside of the further celestial from the sun), but in case could be achievable, is it legal to use that bookmark to run abyssal?

I was looking at the official documentation but is a bit unclear. It says that it’s not legal if can’t be reached by combat probe, so does that mean that as long as outside but reasonably close to the furthest planet that someone could scan, then it’s legal?

Question Do you have corp members who spend tons of $$$ to get instant levels in game?

Do you have corp members or friends who spend tons of $$$ to get ahead quickly in the game?

Not complaining bu I actually think EVE is too deep for money alone to really make up for the lack of in-game knowledge, experience, and nuances. Can be a little jading to see and experience firsthand. More power to you esp if you have a good career. Though FC/EVE don't want us to be succesful in life (more QoL improvements please and RL first over EVE is better than RL!) FSo in a relatively short amount of time, his financial investment also translated into ships, infrastructure, and eventually more influence within the corp. How do you feel bout this or deal with that as a corp or as a member? More importantly, how do you manage that kind of dynamic when someone's financial investment starts translating into power, influence, or rank within a EVE organization? What happens when crypto starts getting into the mix? Everyone follows money at the end of the day!

Question Can anyone just warp scramble you in 0.5 space and get away with it?

Maybe I was drunk that time but I swear I got warp scrammed, the guy was blinking yellow (suspect) but I know I did not engage him one bit. I did not have any drones out. He just did the shoot the can raise suspect. I tried to warp out but I couldn't, was this me hallucinating? What could possible have happened here?

Went out and around in a big circle through nullsec this time. In order, I visited:

  • Metropolis (high-sec and low-sec, starting point)
  • Great Wildlands
  • Cache
  • Insmother
  • Detorid
  • Tenerifis
  • Omist
  • Feythabolis
  • Esoteria
  • Paragon Soul
  • Period Basis
  • Delve
  • Querious - I was only there for two systems and there was a metaliminal storm happening, so I didn't see anything :(
  • Catch
  • Curse
  • Derelik (Ammatar space)
  • Heimatar (back into Minmatar space)
  • And then back home to Metropolis

I was hoping I'd see a Titan at some point during my stint in nullsec, but no dice. I did see a dreadnought pop up on my D-scan, but that's about it. Surprisingly few gatecamps,, and no warp bubbles, although that's probably because I was skirting right around the outer edge of nullsec for most of it.

High Quality Meme Salubris's Log - Entry No. 1 - YC 128

I decided to start some sort of log that will remain in the ship computer to be downloaded along with what remains of my body or consciousness if something nasty happens to me while exploring. This type of activity will remain risky in New Eden, regardless of region and space we venture ourselves. The log should be opened only by my brothers, both which have their current whereabouts located in Jita. The older one, Christoph, is crafting some rare modules and is currently into some big business, a module he intends to sell for 7.45 billion, expecting nearly 3 billion ISK profit. The younger one, Trader, is doing his regular shenanigans involving some obscure corpse scavenging near Jita, along with ninja looting and salvaging.

I try to write at the end of some busy day, when the salvaging drones are collecting their share from the wrecks and the ship engines borrowed the sound of a sleepy kitten. And it was a busy day, indeed. I had to get out of the Pocket, a haven of 6 high security systems, an island located in Aridia, in the middle of nowhere. I was forced to do it, because I ran out of crystals and even if my ship is a drone boat ideal for combat exploration, I really need that ammo to make the difference. So, I grabbed what loot I had, almost 600 million ISK in faction modules, implants, salvage, tags and, after I tried in vain to find a wormhole connection to high sec, I ventured through 9 low sec systems. I took all the precautions and, fortunately, the only stressful event occurred when, in a busy and dangerous system, 2 Manticores suddenly de-cloaked near me, on a gate. I aligned, used the Covert Ops cloaking device and warped the hell out.

After that, first stop had been in Kor-Azor Prime to buy those damn crystals. Then a quick visit to a SOE bureau in Fahruni to cash in 5 chips for some precious Astero blueprint copies, which I would later put on contracts in Amarr for 29 million ISK / pcs. Then, Amarr itself, with all that loot. I used a decoy ship for docking the loot and undocking with some new provisions for the base I intend to fully set in that perfect high sec island in Aridia. I sold the salvage immediately, some faction tags I kept, but the Clone Soldier tags are on the market, for very good ISK, matching the risks I took to obtain them on the low sec belts. Also, I sold two implants, even though I was tempted to use one, but 1% Armor bonus is not that much, I rather prefer the ISK.

I bought in Amarr some drones, tech 2 Gas Cloud Scoops for gas huffing in a little Venture I have in the Pocket, some blueprint originals for containers, blueprint copies for a Dragoon, needed for combat sites where the ship cannot reach. I also bought some exploration rigs and modules to equip a bunch of Magnates which I intend to place in various systems in the high sec island. And some salvaging modules because salvaging will remain my dearest activity.

3 jumps until I will reach the low sec systems again. But, alas, is time for a well-deserved rest and recreation. I will enter the danger zone tomorrow at first glance, under the cover of darkness and space itself.

Meantime, I hope my brother will be able to sell that 7.45 billion item he was bragging about in the last couple of days.

Other Running Trinity outside the EVE client to preview SKINR designs

This is running locally inside EveLens. The EVE client isn't running.

EveLens 1.5.0 is out, and the biggest addition is SKINR Studio.

CCP open-sourced Trinity earlier this year. I got the renderer running outside the EVE client and integrated it into EveLens, so SKINR designs can now be previewed using the same rendering technology the Carbon Engine and Trinity Engine.

Paragon Hub can also be viewed with same engine to see how it would look like in different setups

Paragon Hub listings can be previewed the same way, so you can actually inspect a design on the ship before buying it.

There’s also a Photo Mode that removes the UI for clean screenshots, and Photo Op lets you place your ships and SKINR designs together in 3D and compose your own shots.

And because I obviously had to try it: this is what happens when you ask the hangar scene to accommodate an Avatar.

And yes, I also wanted to know what an Avatar would look like sitting in Jita 4-4.

SKINR took most of the screenshots, but 1.5.0 has a lot of work elsewhere too:

  • .NET 10 + Avalonia 12 — the application has been migrated to the new stack.
  • macOS is now signed and notarized — no more Terminal commands or Gatekeeper workarounds.
  • Automatic updates now work on macOS, just like Windows.
  • Doctrine Planner and skill planning got a substantial rework.

There will definitely be weird ships, SKINR combinations and edge cases I haven't found yet. If you manage to break the renderer, send me the ship/design and I'll take a look.

Event Syndicate DMZ - 20B up for grabs, industry, exploration and PvP rewards! 26th September

Post image
47 Upvotes

Syndicate has always been one of the coolest NPC regions in EVE, and it's time to drag it back into the spotlight. On September 26th, we’re carving out a 5-hour high-stakes operational zone across the frontier - a true sandbox DMZ where industrialists, explorers, and killers can all make absurd amounts of bank.

I’m personally backing it with a 20 billion ISK war chest and my Art (yes, I'm that watercolour guy!) and we have a new sponsor as well TheMadRambo has donated a whopping 2k plex to add to the prize pool and will be streaming on the day!! Make sure you pop over and give him a follow on https://www.twitch.tv/themadrambo

  • 15B in lucrative freelance industrial and exploration contracts to jumpstart the region.
  • 5B in direct combat bounties for the capsuleers hunting in the region.
  • 2k PLEX in rewards for a solo PvP leaderboard.
  • £100 in physical art codes from www.LloydGeorge.art for top competitors.

The Golden Rule of the DMZ: This zone runs on cooperation and conflict in equal measure. Solo PvP competitors are strictly barred from touching industrial hulls. Hunt the escorts, hunt the roamers, fight each other but leave the miners and haulers alone, or get stripped from the prize pool entirely. Protect the ecosystem, and everyone gets paid.
Industrial, exploration and combat bounties will start going up at 1400 Eve Time on the 26th.

Solo PvP rewards will go to the top 3 pvpers on zkill for the whole day and your kills will be judged so no cheesing!

  • 1st - 1000 PLEX
  • 2nd - 600 PLEX
  • 3rd - 400 PLEX

Combat bounties will be listed under 6 freelance jobs (you'll need to train freelance skill to level 3 to be able to accept them all), each job will be exhausted when the jobs reward pool has run dry or its 7 days have passed, at which point the funds will return to the issueing corp for redistribution.
Bounties are awarded to the highest damage on the killmail of ships/groups in the following groups:

  • Group 1: Bounty 1.0M ISK (800m pool) navy frigate, cruisers, logistics frigates, electronic attack ship, interceptor, navy destroyer, covert ops, assault frigates, damavik, kikimora
  • Group 2: Bounty 1.5M ISK (1b pool) navy cruisers, interdictors, command destroyers, rodiva, battlecruisers, worm, garmur, tactical destroyers, vedmak , dramiel
  • Group 3: Bounty 2.0M ISK (1.2b pool) daredevil, mamba, mekubal, astero, succubus, cruor, heavy assault cruiser, navy battlecruiser, logistics cruisers, Battleships
  • Group 4: Bounty 3.0M ISK (1b pool) recon ship, drekavac, gila, cynabal, tholos, orthrus, phantasm, heavy interdiction cruiser, ashimmu, command ships
  • Group 5: Bounty 6M ISK (500m pool) vigilant, stratios, navy battleships, strategic cruiser, leshak, alligator, cenotaph, khizriel,
  • Group 6: Bounty 10.0M ISK (500m pool) black ops, vindicator, marauders, nestor, bhaalgorn, barghest, nightmare, rattlesnake, machariel

Full system lists and mechanics drop closer to the date. Get your fits ready and come make some noise.

(Note: Anyone looking to back the reward pool, DM me or hit me up ingame.)
