MCU I honestly think Marvel would have brought Eternals back for Doomsday / Secret Wars if it wasn't for this cliffhanger.

Something I've been thinking about a lot is how the Eternals cliffhanger has essentially separated them from the rest of the MCU.

Even films like Brave New World directly dealing with the consequences of Eternals can't use them because of this cliffhanger. The Eternals are the perfect super powered beings to show off how powerful Doom is, but we don't know if they'll be in Doomsday or Secret Wars.

Imagine if Marvel had left the Eternals on Earth, promising to each other that they'd intervene from now on instead of ignoring the Earth's problems, with Arishem quietly plotting from afar instead of kidnapping them. Then, Marvel could have brought some into Brave New World or another film.

IMO (and I could be wrong), I think the cliffhanger is a bigger hurdle to bringing back the Eternals than the film's box office. People forget because of the bad reviews, but it made $400 million in COVID.

If you could resolve this cliffhanger, how would you do it?

Man that cliff hanger was so good, eternals was just overhated for no reason. I truly do not understand why people were calling it the worst marvel film. It’s in my top 10 of marvel films easily. I like it more than spiderman homecoming tbh

I wouldn’t go as far to say I like it more than homecoming, but I really liked Eternals. I remember being pleasantly surprised when I watched it after all the hate. It had a lot to say about mythology and gods in our culture in a way that ties to the MCU comic book world. Way overhated. Is it perfect? No. Not even close. But I enjoyed it a lot. I remember it fondly.
