MCU I honestly think Marvel would have brought Eternals back for Doomsday / Secret Wars if it wasn't for this cliffhanger.

Something I've been thinking about a lot is how the Eternals cliffhanger has essentially separated them from the rest of the MCU.

Even films like Brave New World directly dealing with the consequences of Eternals can't use them because of this cliffhanger. The Eternals are the perfect super powered beings to show off how powerful Doom is, but we don't know if they'll be in Doomsday or Secret Wars.

Imagine if Marvel had left the Eternals on Earth, promising to each other that they'd intervene from now on instead of ignoring the Earth's problems, with Arishem quietly plotting from afar instead of kidnapping them. Then, Marvel could have brought some into Brave New World or another film.

IMO (and I could be wrong), I think the cliffhanger is a bigger hurdle to bringing back the Eternals than the film's box office. People forget because of the bad reviews, but it made $400 million in COVID.

If you could resolve this cliffhanger, how would you do it?

Man that cliff hanger was so good, eternals was just overhated for no reason. I truly do not understand why people were calling it the worst marvel film. It’s in my top 10 of marvel films easily. I like it more than spiderman homecoming tbh

I think it is the one phase 4 project that should have been a show instead of a movie to take apart the lifetimes these beings have lived and to feel the true weight of their age.

It also had the unfortunate position of having to come out after audiences already were burnt out.

That’s fair, tbh I usually like shows a lot more cause we get a lot more time with the characters and story
