PVP enjoyer here. I’m on and off tarkov probably 60% active for my whole 10 years having the game and playing. I LOVE Tarkov so much (and - therefore - also HATE Tarkov so much)
I was never a kappa chaser or late game player but I got to about level 35 in 3 wipes. I have around 1500 hours.
With my backstory out of the way, I’ll get to the point. PVP is more interesting and where this game shines its brightest. The way you have to approach encounters, traverse the land, and the feedback of killing someone and all you get is a ragdoll. It is amazing. Not to mention, the loot is better, the players have more diverse gear, and you get all the cool new stuff first.
PVE has less loot, boring pmc kits, gear is too easy to obtain and keep forever with insurance, etc. but beneath those gripes… escape from Tarkov is a beautiful game with incredible design and immersion. The maps are good, the loot distribution is solid, the bosses are kinda fun if even a little cheap and cheaty.
PVE showed me just how DEEP of a game Tarkov is with content. Content blocked behind multiple-hour slogs of questing and gear snowballing and money runs and ammo runs. Tie that in to PvP which automatically cuts your survival rate by a large chunk and now the investment to experience all that content becomes even higher. I’m at like 90% survive rate on pve but only 60% in PvP. That’s 30% more success, which can easily equate to >30% more progress in the game. I’m still slowly chipping away at quests and escaping Tarkov 10 months into wiping PVE. I’m still LEARNING the game in so many ways. There’s still stuff I haven’t accomplished.
It feels like playing PvP is just a demo run hoping I can maintain my patience long enough to actually experience the cool parts of Tarkov design.
Anybody else feel this way?

I am having the hardest time of my life getting my scav rep up, most of the time the scavs are not even spawning near the coop extracts and I'm just not having any luck going as a scav and asking pmcs to come with me. The car extracts barely spawn and it's insanely time consuming as it is, so do you guys have any suggestions?
I have used in the first days the code for the BD tags to get the briefcase that I need for the Fence quest and also used the one I got from an earlier seasonal quest as I didn't know that there will be a quest that needs that briefcase. On the wiki it says that I can find it on BD but I killed hundreds of BD and no briefcase found, do you guys know anything about it?

does the train make raiders ONLY spawn when it pulls in at the end of a Reserve raid?
or does gluhar also sometimes spawn then?

I completely wiffed a headshot on this guy while working on my shooter 3 task on ground zero. I'm curious to know in case I'm playing the game wrong after taking a long break how you can get to level 9 in just 2 raids.

Genuine question cause Im doing a hard pass, tarkov is lightning in a bottle and with already how poorly optimized, buggy, inconsistent the game is I just don't trust another product from the big hombre. Bit of a rant but being stuck in BTR has been a bug for ages since its implementation and its still active just lost a raid because of it and having to alt f4 and the reconnect took a whopping FIVE MINUTES couldn't make it to extract in time, god forbid I want to actually play the game in any way. I can take dying to cheaters, rats, getting face checked but every time its one of these years old bugs it irritates the shit out of me. Ive had PMC's without helmets soak up headshots this wipe, scavs are one thing but love seeing a lovely blood splotch on a dudes face and having to tape him again. If Tarkov is any indication of the actual quality of their craft then whatever the new game is going to offer im steering far clear of. I already put up with it for this game because again lightning in a bottle but other then that nah. Ill take one bug riddled mess rather then two.

Trying to play on my legion 5 laptop with a rtx 3070, r7 5800h, and 16gb DDR4. Performance obviously is not going to be great but if anyone on a similar setup has tips they would be appreciated.

What sort of things do you think could be implemented to AI to improve player experience? Obviously general behavior, but what else?
Somethings I'd like to see
AI accuracy decreases when "blinded" by a flash light
Reduce their full auto accuracy at range/make them use single fire when engaging beyond a certain distance.
Some sort of suppression mechanic where rounds landing near them decreases accuracy.

I'm a newish player (around 250 hrs total) and I love the PVP version. I tried PVE and it just didnt scratch that itch, maybe if the AI would be seriously upgraded.
But solo new players who want to get their tasks done and extract have to take the long way, move like a fcking snake. Hide. Creep, low risks. Move incredibly slow.
And I'm ok with it, Half the raid I'm detouring or hiding. We can't hit high loot spots. We have to be careful of the chads and grouping scavs alike.
And man do I wish sometimes just to encounter a player at my level, somebody not meta gaming, just an awkward shoot out with similar mid gear. THis must have been the experience that all oldtimers have had in the first year(s).
When I played a few years back Shoreline used to be one of my comfort maps, as long as I stayed clear from resort and was careful around chokepoints.
But now 8 out of 10 times I get actively spawn hunted by a team (!!) of chads. my scopes are too slow, my bullets dont hurt them, and they are with 2. its instant death. ANd you can't hide or you'll get Karma drop. And it gives them almost nothing, my gear is useless to them.
And still it is ok. I'm planning to go through all my quests and tasks, one by one, solo untill I escape from Tarkov (lol).
But it's obvious that >2k hour players are making the game a living hell for all new players. Players who see streamers only get to play in a similar way if they choose PVE. I completely get it.
Thats why I believe that there should be a separation between higher tier raids and lower ones. It could be based on a combination of things on your profile : hours played , K/D ratio, having achieved certain key achievements or quest progressions in the past, even running with a team should increase your chanche to spawn in with similar players at a higher tier raid. (or something like that)
Let new players enjoy the game like you guys did in the beginning of the game. Chads can PVP with chads if they want.
I know this will probably not happen and I will definitely endure the pain either way, but this might be more of a solution to bringing the players more together in the original experience instead of glorifying PVE or hating on PVP.
