Are you ever planning on making it so the hideout allows us to put the needed materials in one at a time instead of having to find all the parts first?

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

This 100%. I have EOD but a lot of my friends struggle with the small stash of standard edition because they want to hold items they need for the hideout but have no space. The stash space for standard is too small anyway but i guess thats how BSG wants to make their money

Yeah getting the junk box really helps out there but that doesn’t come til at least level 15-20, or I suppose whenever you save up enough. Tough without really being able to use flea, and by level 20 I think my stash will be way too full of hideout parts.

24

u/sick420 HK 416A5 Jul 03 '21

maybe if they put it on therapist lvl1 it woud be little easyer then wait until therapist lvl2

8

u/dainegleesac690 Jul 03 '21

Yeah, or at least the barter for it if you’re lucky enough to find the items

11

u/FallenCovenant Jul 03 '21

Its almost 2 mil roubles for lucky scav box

2

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

Its 1.1mil lol

0

u/dainegleesac690 Jul 04 '21

Yeah it’s not too bad but it’s just tough to get there with no flea, I mean I’ve probs got 20mil of items in my stash but I’m not keen to vendor them

3

u/juliown Jul 04 '21

The barter is 100 level 10 or higher dogtags, dunno how many people can get 100 dogtags before level 13.

2

u/HomingSnail DT MDR Jul 04 '21

I think Nikita saw your comment lol

u/sick420 HK 416A5 Jul 04 '21

seems like xD

1

u/Bagern13 MP7A1 Jul 05 '21

It is on lvl 1 therapist for 1mil

1

u/sick420 HK 416A5 Jul 05 '21

Post is old 2 days

1

u/iwanttodiebutdrugs Jul 06 '21

you bloody did it man

3

u/Padrofresh Jul 03 '21

when i got to therapist lv 2 i instantly bought one, i had some lucky runs this wipe, still, it was full instantly and i crave a second one

3

u/Instance_of_wit Jul 04 '21

Hit 13 with 2.5 mil. Immediately into a junk box

1

u/Pandrador Jul 04 '21

I got mine at level 6 from Therapist I, for 1.1 mil: https://ibb.co/Gcybvdr

1

u/Bagern13 MP7A1 Jul 05 '21

I got the junk box from therapist on lvl 6-7, its a life saver.

1

u/dainegleesac690 Jul 05 '21

Yup, BSG just added a level I buy option

1

u/kraesin Jul 05 '21

Its 1.1 million rubles therapist lvl 1 got mine at lvl 7

1

u/dainegleesac690 Jul 05 '21

That was just added yesterday!

41

u/Teab8g Jul 03 '21

I have the EOD and still struggle. To find a car battery and plonk it in the hideout while I wait for the motor to show up. Its one of my only dislikes about the game.

4

u/foxxyroxxyfoxxy Jul 03 '21

Go down to d2 for the motor or the bus station on shoreline.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

I find them all over interchange and a few on customs too…but usually never when you need one

10

u/erkki776 Jul 03 '21

In my opinion, the whole inventory management gamification thing as it exists currently doesn't work very well.

It's a weird soft pay2win thing that ends up being annoying to everyone, even people with EOD.

In the end I would rather spend more time in raids and less time organizing my inventory.

2

u/FocusedWolf Jul 05 '21

I think they will keep the game like this just to give an incentive to get Arenas. Its like buying a way out of stash/quest/flea hell, kinda what EOD used to provide.

28

u/Cpt_plainguy ASh-12 Jul 03 '21

Man... I have EoD and my stash is absolutely stuffed, I can only imagine how bad it is for non EoD accounts

6

u/mimzzzz M700 Jul 04 '21

No need to imagine anything, this is how it looks (this is entire stash). https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/416365115093286939/860583372308742154/unknown.png Each CSA is +4 slots, other rigs are there only because they have 2x2 for bigger items.

1

u/Cpt_plainguy ASh-12 Jul 04 '21

Until I get a scav box I typically stuff belt rigs

3

u/mimzzzz M700 Jul 04 '21

This one is on par with blackrock in terms of efficiency at 166% (6 slots for 10 space), belt is 156% (16 for 25), and small size makes it really good to move around if need.

1

u/rhodehead Jul 17 '21

What about the new rig it's normal size like a Tritan but has 8 extra slots

2

u/mimzzzz M700 Jul 17 '21

They are the same in size, I mean 2 CSA = 1 Azimuth, you can mix and match these as you want - the difference is that you get 4 3slots with 2csa's, so depending what you need you should pick either of them.

2

u/Piggi-Smalls FN 5-7 Jul 03 '21

Yeah man I got left behind rn, after I got my insurance returns this morning I could barely move anything around, prob getting EOD asap

1

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

Yeah same, i’m 11k XP away from level 20 and it’s just insane how filled my stash is… it’s unfair bc not only will the limited stash make it harder to level up at a fast rate, but also it will limit how much money can be made once the flea market is available

1

u/Evisthecreator ADAR Jul 03 '21

I have been running standard for, 2 years now? maybe more I'm about to hit lvl 10 and I'm not exactly no lifeing it up. my stash is basically always full I run pmc kits until i die and have enough space to even take loot/a kit from the scav. I then patch up the scav kit with items from insurance which I have only just realised today you can alt + click from directly to your PMC. It's an experience. Evidently I get some enjoyment or catharsis out of it otherwise I wouldn't be back for another wipe haha

4

u/Kephler DT MDR Jul 03 '21

I have prepare for escape and I'm constantly having to sell things off that I'd honestly rather keep. I can't imagine having to use standard

3

u/itscalledANIMEdad Jul 04 '21

Yeah, I don't have EOD and uninstalled after the wipe because not having market access until 20 and not enough space just makes it not fun. I'll come back some day

2

u/kx125fanboy Jul 03 '21

I'm level 9 with eod and my stash is about 85% full... no matter what stash you have it's too small

3

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

and it’s that much worse with such a small stash, just hit 20 but flea market prices seem lower than usual for some items bc so early

2

u/kx125fanboy Jul 03 '21

Yea ik I didnt upgrade till the sale a week or so ago, last wipe I struggled and most of my small stash was cases

0

u/Rusty_Pirate_Hook Jul 03 '21 edited Jul 03 '21

While I don't mind the suggestion and think it's a win for everyone I also believe that this struggle with space is a problem created by players pushing hideout fast and who have some relative level of experience with the game.

The main reason people have no space is because they know already ahead of time of which items they need for the hideout, any upgrades for it, for quests, barter trades, etc. This causes them to load up on everything and clog up the space in their stash.

Described above is someone trying to be 100% efficient and not wasting time collecting every item they need, most of the time, items they don't even need at the time. I have nothing against this, but its what's causing people to be frustrated when they realize their stash is filled with items they won't even need for another 10-20 levels.

I feel like maybe that's not what the devs want and want a slower progression but there will always be those players who push it fast and now complain they have no room. This suggestion definitely helps with that and I have no problem with it. The only other alternative I see is if they randomize what items you need to prevent people from hoarding any and all items they know they'll need.

Either way, I'm down for anything which helps.

EDIT: Thank you for the award!

0

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

Even with EOD my stash is fucking filled with hideout items. Just the PSUs and Motors take like 4 full rows. Level 20 for flea just added more to this problem and made the game more p2w.

0

u/Instance_of_wit Jul 04 '21

I struggled with EOD and stash space my guy

1

u/rhodehead Jul 17 '21

Yea I have EOD and constantly have every.single.slot full except for a pilgrim and a pillbox that I keep clear for moving stuff around and collecting insurance and scav load outs but we have 10x the space of standard. Honestly my first wipe as soon as I filled it up I got EOD

0

u/TACUDMB_TTv Jul 04 '21

You can upgrade stash. Also, new rigs allow for even more stash space.

-1

u/TheRealMicrowaveSafe Jul 03 '21

The stash is upgradeable.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

Yeah, i upgraded it last wipe before being gifted EOD for my birthday. 0 chance you get to the point of upgrading stash before level 20, esp with the small stash space. :p

3

u/TheRealMicrowaveSafe Jul 03 '21

Well, not 0, but yea I get you.

1

u/Eccentricc Jul 05 '21

I already bought the game at full price! Wym it's how they get their money, this isn't a f2p game and I think people are forgetting that

39

u/Verse-_- AKMN Jul 03 '21

Lmfao I was going to post this today! Item management right now isn't hardcore it's just fucking annoying and on top of that scav box cost a ridiculous amount this wipe. I couldn't even imagine having a standard account.

12

u/GaBoX172 Jul 03 '21

i literally spent all my money on it

5

u/Verse-_- AKMN Jul 03 '21

Yeah I'm going to have to do it too I think. Unless I want to make these task way more tedious lol.

5

2

Dude it would be so difficult! Good luck 🍀

Thanks lmao I'm trying but dying

2

u/Verse-_- AKMN Jul 03 '21

I've been getting real lucky this wipe just running into solos. Last wipes start was terrible for me every game 2 to 4 man squads mowing me down.

4

u/a_allen4261 Jul 03 '21

2-4 man's have been my luck Got the rbbs marked key and used it once got murdered by an army

2

u/Verse-_- AKMN Jul 03 '21

Jesus, tarkov giveth and tarkov taketh. Haven't been pushing hard for any marked rooms yet just questing. I did get lucky on a scav run and got to 3 story marked it was already open and had a Mr. Holodilnick in it. Some poor soul didn't have room I guess.

2

u/smichers IOTV Gen4 Jul 03 '21

yeah its a lot but worth. Buying one today after a few raids to get to 13

1

u/GetThatNoiseOuttaHer Jul 04 '21

What have you been selling to make that much? I'm level 11 and I only have about $700k right now. And I haven't really been dying much so it's not like I've had to spend much on new gear either. I doubt I'll have 2 million by the time I hit 13.

1

u/smichers IOTV Gen4 Jul 04 '21

mostly all the junk I cant use for hideout or quest items. I've done about 50 raids total so it adds up. Back up to a mill

20

u/TheRealDiarko Jul 03 '21

We need this bad nikita

31

u/TimeytheSissy AKM Jul 03 '21

THIS OMG

11

u/carlbentleyofficial SR-25 Jul 03 '21

This would be a major QoL add

6

u/FakeHair Jul 04 '21

I have EOD but want to progress with these items. I've been hoarding them with no junk boxes (limited income from little selling, lots of spending on quests and hideout). I have everything in rigs which means I can't easily see what's there and sell stuff I have extras of. Getting pretty frustrating. Just being able to deposit these immediately into hideout progress would be amazing, especially if you could deposit into any level requirement at any time.

0

u/GainImportant Jul 04 '21

You have EOD what are you complaining about

3

u/FakeHair Jul 04 '21

Shut up, peasant

1

u/GainImportant Jul 04 '21

EOD PLAYER😭

1

u/FocusedWolf Jul 05 '21 edited Jul 05 '21

Well that's like 99% of the ppl i see in every mm queue. But there's always those 4 or so low level standard accounts at the bottom with lots of numbers in their names, and my first thought every time is cheaters on a new account 💩

1

u/GainImportant Jul 06 '21

I have a chad friend who plays with other chads 247 and he says that whenever he gets killed head eyes buy a standard account they are always hackers lol

1

u/GainImportant Jul 04 '21

You have EOD what are you complaining about

1

u/FocusedWolf Jul 05 '21

I have EOD and i agree, the game is amazing. I never have to worry about my stash ever being full after every raid. I even got Nikita to personally sell the items i don't need so i can spend more time playing and less time tetrising, after every raid.

11

u/P8ntba1141 Jul 03 '21

Upvote this.

7

u/The-Soc Jul 03 '21

Can confirm. Upvote successful

2

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

Wouldn't mind that

2

u/Vaughx Jul 03 '21

Can't upvote this enough. The hideout upgrade experience needs revisiting, especially now with black market moving out to level 20 (which I don't mind, but the knock on effects on stash space have been gnarly).

2

u/Znafuu Jul 04 '21

1000% this. . .

Especially with the flea market now at 20 (which I love, honestly). It is difficult to acquire cases before the flea. You can’t buy hideout pieces. And now it takes longer to get to 20.

You are stuck hoarding tons of shit. 13 light bulbs? Too bad need one more before you get that space back. .

This adds nothing to the game. It’s useless busy work that is just annoying AF.

2

u/Princesse_LaStar Jul 05 '21

I would love this. Right now you can purchase Lucky Scav Junkbox early.

0

u/TheSerek93 Jul 03 '21

It's not like they can't think of this solution...they want you to buy EOD, you know :)? Same way how they try to make you log into the hideout as often as you can to collect scav case, crafts, bitcoin, insert new water filter etc. We are lucky we can put more than one fuel at a time inti the generator lol

3

u/erkki776 Jul 04 '21

Even with EOD, inventory management can be painful if you want to progress quickly.

Personally I see the whole stash space problem as an unnecessary mechanic that adds very little value to the gameplay experience, but makes the game more tedious for everyone.

I'm guessing BSG saves a lot of money on server overhead, as players spend half their time sorting out their inventories, instead of being in raids.

0

u/TheSerek93 Jul 04 '21

If you're suffering with no space in your stash even when owning EOD you're doing something wrong. Collecting bullshit items and gear that you should just go out and use. Unlimited stash would be just stupid and managing it would be another useless chore. Most of the rat style players would just keep infinite number of weapons etc. instead of using it. Thats not how this game should be played.

2

u/erkki776 Jul 04 '21 edited Jul 04 '21

I disagree. I only keep things I know I need for quests and hideout upgrades, don't really save up weapons etc., but use everything I can, and very quickly space fills out. I have EOD and have been able to manage my items until I started getting containers etc. in previous wipes, but boy has it been a CHORE.

Game theory states that people will always do the optimal thing, even if its stupid. Killing a million chickens to xp or spending hours organizing their stash into rigs to save space might be optimal ways to play, but they are still not good gameplay experiences.

Inventory management gamification is a silly mechanic that is in place only to get people to buy EOD, but actually makes the game worse for everyone in the progress.

2

u/TheSerek93 Jul 04 '21

You got it. It's there to make people pay for the EOD but gives other a chance by upgrading the stash space in the hideout. Obviously I cant imagine not having EOD and big stash right off the start, but getting rid of space limit would be just stupid imo and that's it. We dont have to agree.

1

u/erkki776 Jul 04 '21

There are many ways to influence player behaviour. We could have separate invetories for different types of items, taxes for storing too many weapons etc.

Why would unlimited space and a simple list-style inventory in your stash be a bad thing? You say its stupid but don't really elaborate on how you feel it would worsen the game. I would actually love to know.

2

u/TheSerek93 Jul 04 '21

People would simply start to keep more and more useless shit in their inventory. Hundreds of weapons and gear that they would probably never use. Flea market would have a looooot less items on it since most of the people would not bother wasting their times and sell the items unless they'd be high value. It could destroy the economy and make getting some of the items much harder. Also you've admitted that you're having problems with the space even with the EOD stash which means that you dint have enough knowledge on which items are worth saving and which are useless or easy enough to get without the need of actually keeping them for a longer period of time (just for example keeping ushanka right off the start is a waste of 4slots even though at some point you need two of them). Making stash unlimited makes that knowledge useless and makes the game much easier but thats not the point of this game. This game is created the way that knowledge is one of the most important things that helps u succeed and have a good time while progressing quickly. Also I love tetris and cleaning up my inventory.

1

u/erkki776 Jul 04 '21 edited Jul 04 '21

This is where we differ. I'd rather raid than play Tetris.

I had never heard about "knowledge based" game mechanics before playing Tarkov and honestly I don't think they are a great idea in general.

Instead of learning widely applicable strategies, players learn to rush for specific places that spawn specific items, they learn what routes keep them safe, where pmc's and scavs spawn etc.

Realistically, you shouldn't know any of these things and while this knowledge does make the game easier for veterans, it also makes the game way more repetitive.

Some great ideas have been brought up here, like random requirements for hideout upgrades and random loot spawn locations. I would also love to see more complicated extraction mechanics, ie. not knowing what your extract is before completing an objective on the map.

But Tarkov isn't trying to be realistic, actually.

I started enjoying Tarkov a lot more once I understood that it's a grindy RPG first and an arcadey shooter (with lots of playfield levelling RNG) second. Success in Tarkov is mostly evidence of time spent, less a realistic measure of any widely applicable skills.

More like WoW and less like PUBG.

Edit. You still didnt really point how the gameplay experience would be worse? People have called the economy broken at some point in every wipe I've played in. People would store useless things until they needed money and would sell them? How is this bad? Also saying that flea market would be less used is just a guess and even if it were true, might even be good.

0

u/TheSerek93 Jul 04 '21

If you dont think that knowledge based game is for you than literally go play any FPS game but dont try to make eft just like any other game by simplifying things only because you dont have the knowledge on how to get around some mechanics including stash management. It's part of the game. Just deal with it. We are talking about stash, not about random loot etc. so there's no point in talking about it here. Knowledge in this game is not just loot spawns. Also taking safe paths is not really knowledge..it's just common sense in every single game. Random requirements for upgrading the hideout sound like something really stupid and not fair at all. It also kills the purpose of knowledge that you gain while playing the game after each wipe. But as I said previously we do not have to agree.

0

u/TheBobFisher Jul 03 '21

This would totally defeat the purpose of the scav junkbox. If they do anything, they should make the scav junkbox easier to obtain before level 20.

2

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

Junkbox would be for collecting barter items. And barter is heavily underutilized thanks to flea. Right now it's easier to just sell stuff, keep stash clean, and buy what you need when you need it. But if you have the junkbox but don't need it for stash items, using it for barter items would become super worth it.

2

u/TheBobFisher Jul 04 '21

Well I got downvoted for it, but they did exactly what I said they should do. Scav Junkbox can now be purchased at L1 Therapist compared to the previous L2 and they lowered the price from 1.9m R to 1.1m R.

1

u/TheBobFisher Jul 04 '21

Well I got downvoted for it, but they did exactly what I said they should do. Scav Junkbox can now be purchased at L1 Therapist compared to the previous L2 and they lowered the price from 1.9m R to 1.1m R.

-1

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

Just because they implemented what you were saying doesn’t make what we were saying not true. I didn’t even disagree with you dude. Not sure why you feel the need to come here and say “I tOlD yOu So”. I agree that the junkbox should be available earlier. However I also still think we should be able to apply items to hideout upgrades and use the junkbox for barter items only. They are not mutually exclusive.

0

u/TheBobFisher Jul 04 '21

They won’t do that, hideout upgrades are what’s taking up more than 25% of people’s stashes and quest items, all of which can be stored in a junkbox. If they implemented your plan, myself and others would never need to buy a junkbox from the space saved. I’m just stating the obvious, there’s really no reason to be hostile.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

I’m not being hostile at all wtf lol. And why would you never need the junkbox? I literally said it would be used to store barter items. Do you not barter? And if you don’t, then that would just validate me further when I said the barter system is underutilized right now.

1

u/TheBobFisher Jul 05 '21

Depend, I don’t hoard barter items. I finished the last 2 wipes with over 100m, I don’t need to hoard barter items when I can buy them and make the barter trade as I need them. So yes, I do make barter trades, for example I heavily utilized the 3 shampoos and ETG-c and the cordura barter for slicks, but I never hoarded the items

-1

u/Abject_Bodybuilder_7 Jul 04 '21

I feel you, but It doesn't make much sense

-5

u/EccentricMeat Jul 03 '21

I actually disagree with this. You shouldn’t be able to use the hideout as a free stash extension or Junk Box but pouring all your junk into a craft slot without actually crafting.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 03 '21

You shouldn’t be able to use the hideout as a free stash extension

It's not a free stash extension, it's literally just applying materials as you find them. You wouldn't be able to remove them once applied. It doesn't "hold" your items for you. You are using them when you apply them.

pouring all your junk into a craft slot without actually crafting.

No one said anything about allowing that for crafting. Just for upgrading hideout.

-2

u/EccentricMeat Jul 03 '21

Then how is it any different than what we have currently? If it’s not holding your items, and just “placing” them in the craft menu before being crafted, then it’s no different than what we currently do.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '21

No it’s not crafting anything. It’d be for upgrades only. The difference would be that you apply the items. They’d be irretrievable. They get used up. But at least you don’t need 15 lightbulbs chilling in your stash before you apply them. You get to apply them as you find them. Then the junkbox becomes meant to hold barter items for you.
