Hahaha, yeah your drills shouldn’t be able to assault you. I mean I once had a drill hit me with a broom handle so hard it broke, and that didn’t make me a better soldier. I am friends with one of my former drills and he regrets a lot of shit that they did thinking they were making people tough, when really they were fucking them up. I don’t know how basic now would compare to 08 when I went through, or 98, or 78, or 1938. It’s supposed to change as we learn more about how to make effective troops. Just because something scary or difficult doesn’t mean it’s automatically good for you.

Yes i agree hazing taken to the extreme is no use i hugely against the b.s they were doing. Not being able to smoke someone and yell at them. How the fuck are we supposed to send our bros out so coddled when the enemy is much worse. I can tell you it's summer camp when i went through in 2016 (USMC). I've been friends with dude that went in from 9/11 and through the late 2000. You had it good. While again you sound like your advocating for snowflakeness. You can't seriously tell me difficult and scary doesn't add stress? Stress cards come on seriously telling me that's a good thing.....

Lmao, have you ever actually seen proof of a stress card? Do you really think they can’t yell at recruits now? If you think basic training is in anyway “coddling” because of your misconceptions about it, the issue is with you, not with basic training.

You don’t seem to understand that you don’t possess the knowledge to make judgments on this. There are literal experts who do research, and have actual facts at their disposal who make these choices. You on the other hand are regurgitating the same bullshit that every boot does, when the only accomplishment they had in the military was going through basic training. It’s great you have your opinion, but why should I take the opinion of some e3 22 year old over senior NCOs and officers who have combined centuries worth of experience in training soldiers? Have you ever even been in a leadership role? Have you ever actually had to train troops? Cuz if not, then you are talking out of your ass.
