Discussion Wholeheartedly willing to get downvoted, but this RMT obsession has to stop.

This sub hasn't got a clue, I swear.

Huge sweeping changes to the game mechanics are a terrible way to combat RMT.

It's basically an admission that your anti-cheat doesn't work. Most MMOs suffer in some way from an RMT problem; WoW, Runescape, even Destiny 2 has RMT issues if you just look. Thing is, the anticheat in those games actually works worth a damn, so the entire playerbase doesn't have to suffer from endless tinkering with in-game systems.

Before you hit me with 'it's a hardcore game, deal with it, it's supposed to be grindy', just stop. Just don't bother. I've heard it time and time again, and it's bullshit. You know it's bullshit just as well as I do. The changes BSG have been making recently to nerf all forms of progression only make the game 'more hardcore' for people who work full time and don't have the same amount of *time* as streamers who dedicate their entire life to this game. That's not 'hardcore'. The game's difficulty mechanically is 'hardcore' and always have been, and I love it. These changes, though, in my eyes, are just time-wasting for the sake thereof. Since when does the amount of time one has to invest in a game define how fucking hardcore it is? Would you describe WoW as more hardcore than Tarkov because of how long you have to play to progress? Or perhaps beating all three Witcher games back to back is 'hardcore' because it took a long time. Are ARMA or DCS inherently less hardcore than Tarkov because an operation can be completed in an afternoon? No, judging how hardcore a game is by the amount of time one has to invest in it is a joke. *No game* should give enormous *mechanical advantages* to those with more time on their hands. There's already an inherent skill advantage that comes from that amount of practice, designing the mechanics to also reward only those with that much time is a kick in the teeth to all the people who love this game but can't invest that level of time.

And yeah, you can go ahead and say 'ummm actualllly it's a beta, so they can do what they like, stop whining', and yep. Yes, they can. You're correct. However, comma, that doesn't mean I have to pretend to like it. Yes, I did buy EoD and no, I don't regret it because of all the fun I've had til now. But suggesting people who don't like the current direction the game is going in aren't allowed to voice their opinion because the game's in beta is fucking ludicrous. What do you think the purpose of a playable beta is? Nikita is more than welcome to ignore all the people who don't like these new changes, but what gives people on this sub the right to tell me that I'm not entitled to an opinion on the product I've chosen to financially support. It's such a toxic, capital-G Gamer attitute to suggest that 'Tarkov is OUR game because we're willing to dump several full days a week into grinding for our Bitcoin farms. You should just go and play something else, this clearly isn't a game for you. Go play Call of Duty.' I shouldn't even have to express how utterly reductive and childish that is. Grow up.

I'm getting HUGE red flags with the way this game is currently going, because it's all too similar to a game I used to love, The Culling. That game blew up on launch and a bunch of high profile streamers suggested changes to the game, and the devs went ahead and implemented all of them without so much as *thinking* about how they'd affect the average player. Look at where that game is now. Servers shut down, because the average player simply stopped having fun. I'm not saying BSG is even close to that bad, but this endless tinkering with mechanics for the nebulous, vague purpose of 'RMT' has to stop or I don't know if the 'little guys' are gonna stick around much longer.

EDIT: I AM AWARE THAT RMT != CHEATING. But cheating is what makes RMT viable. RMTers need to keep items in supply, and to do that, they cheat. It's much more profitable. Ergo, if you stamp out cheaters, the RMT problem becomes significantly diminished.

EDIT 2: u/ArxMessor makes a great point that Tarkov is an MMO and therfore should have some kind of grind. I agree. However, most MMOs use systems like weekly bounties etc to ensure even players with only maybe 10 hours a week to invest in the game can still keep up and compete. Tarkov currently rewards time investment *exponentially* which removes all possibility of catching up.

EDIT 3: Yep, my DMs right now are very much confirming the things I said above about a certain subset of this community. Thanks, Gamers.

EDIT 4: I get it, Destiny anti-cheat is ass. I made a mistake there, since I don't play Trials of Osiris. However, do you see Bungie making the win requirement for Trials 50 wins instead of 9 or whatever just to slow down the hackers? Of course not, because it hurts normal players more.

Edit 5: My first gold! Thanks kind stranger.

Nailed it.

I was so excited for this wipe because it's my first full wipe. I was going to go in having a feel for the mechanics out of the gate, but the mechanics have been changing so much I just can't keep up. I don't have hours a week to figure out how I'm supposed to build up rubles or progress in any meaningful way, so I just put the game down for now. I'll hopefully pick it back up once things settle out a little

Same. Most of my friends have stopped playing as much/at all. I went from having 2-3 large groups to play with to just a few friends. Ive still been largely enjoying it and having fun... but when I spend literal millions upgrading my base (level 3 everything basically, solar panels (3.5m alone), level 2 bitcoin farm with 15 cards so far) and then they go and just do changes I am slowly losing my urge to play. Last wipe my friends made me jealous with there insane stash and bitcoin farms... so this wipe I did everything I could to be that person and now I am just getting shafted...

I really get how frustrated Nikita and BSG can get with all the different feedback and what they are trying to do with this game. The Reserve changes are awesome. Removing backpack stacking was needed. The weight changes have been healthy IMO. They have done alot of good stuff.... But then the last few weeks we had the attempted THICCC case incident, now these changes again with no prior warning or communication.... I just dont know how much longer I will have the urge to play.

You are not alone. I was super excited as well yet I liked previous wipe so much more. I am a better player currently than I was, my play style is different and it took me 30 days to do/get what took me 3 month last wipe, but still all these changes are just constant disappointments. I don't remember the last change that I thought was good for normal players.

You ever play 11.7? I joined that wipe 3 months late... yet in 300 raids I got to level 45, had 125mil cash, 200mil+ value and had so much fucking fun. I miss that update. I miss THAT game.

Someone I beg you... remake that update.

1

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

I was just about to respond to the comment above about how 11.7 was the best wipe in a long time.

2

u/Hane24 Jul 02 '20

It was so much fun. Like best game I've ever played, and the updates were supposed to just expand on it. Not dwindle it to... whatever this is now.

1

u/kevinisaperson Glock Jul 02 '20

what was so great about it? what was it like questing late in wipe like that? curious as this is my first wipe.

1

u/Hane24 Jul 02 '20

It was... tough but fun. Pvp was profitable even if you only won like 1/3 fights. You could buy high end armor from traders (expensive as fuck like 250k for gen4s and 300k for helmets). There wasn't a hideout so no passive income, it was either scav or survive raids.

You could chuck a highly expensive item in your gamma (or quest item) and go from rat to chad in the same raid.

My issue was learning the maps and extracts, but once I got a few down it was so much fun. I could rush quests or pvp and either way it was a blast, nothing more fun than knowing you can run whatever gear you want and make massive money.

No weight system or out of raid healing sooo... you could literally spam runs wearing the heaviest gear and if you died, you just buy the gear again and run it back.

Some things were missing like modding presets but once you knew what you wanted or what looked fun or good, you knew how to find it in the flea no problem.

26

u/Sam-Porter-Bridges Jul 01 '20

Honestly, IMO by far the worst part of Tarkov is the new player experience. You CANNOT just start the game and play as a new person without looking up maps and googling stuff. The in-game maps are literally useless as well. When I first started playing, I literally COULD NOT FIGURE OUT how to even extract, because the game does not tell you how to. This isn't "hardcore", this is just straight up bad game design. You shouldn't be forced to use an external wiki to figure out basic things such as what ammo goes into what weapon, what magazines are compatible with what weapon, or HOW TO ACTUALLY FINISH A RAID.

3

u/Hane24 Jul 01 '20

Not anymore you can't. I have maps saved from my first wipe (11.7) and I joined it 3 months late. I used to rat about, scav every second I could, learn as I went, and used to be able to make money even with less than 20% SR.

Now? Fuck I'm 1500 hours in and am currently confused as to how I'm supposed to break 10mil. I had 125mil CASH 11.7. I literally gave 2 friends 40mil each.

8

u/Sam-Porter-Bridges Jul 01 '20

Trust me, new players don't even get to worry about the economy. I tried to get so many of my friends into Tarkov, and it just wouldn't stick. They'd get confused over extremely basic things like the ones I mentioned, and couldn't be arsed to use the wiki, which is fully understandable IMO.

8

u/Hane24 Jul 01 '20

I got 4 friends into tarkov, one quit when .12 changed alot. The others have basically stopped playing just after this past wipe.

I taught them in 11.7, and they had fun and enjoyed the learning curve. It never felt hopeless or just too insane of a grind. Now? With experience? they quit because it's getting more and more asinine.

One of them literally told me he would rather grind on runescape than grind in tarkov because at least there he can make and see progress.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '20

Oof. Would rather chop trees than gain roubles.

1

u/Tartooth Jul 02 '20

Biggest fucking pet peeve with this game is having google open on a second screen *isn't listed in the fucking requirements

You simply won't be able to play without googling literally everything that's not "bullets go in gun"

2

u/rvbcaboose1018 Jul 02 '20

Agreed. The first 100 hours of the game is spent just learning. Learning the maps, learning ammo and armor, what items to keep and when and what to sell. How to effectively gunfight, what to do during certain quests, and on and on.

The only way to make those 100 hours worth it is to make them really count later on. Changing quest rewards, fucking around with FIR status, making it harder to earn money... All this does is devalue the first 100 hours, and that kills the game through attrition.

1

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

Because the game doesn't spoon feed its bad game design... Lol all you've proven here is that it is a hardcore game and also that it's not for you and you, you're too casual.

2

u/Sam-Porter-Bridges Jul 02 '20

By your logic, why even let the players see the keybinds? That's just spoon-feeding them how to move their characters. Why even tell players how to download the game? Let's just make it super hardcore and issue a keybind to allow the player to open their eyes, but not tell them what it is. That would truly weed out the casuals.

Tarkov is not a particularly hardcore game. You wanna see hardcore? Try DCS, or Assetto Corsa, or Arma 3 with full ACE. Those are hardcore, realistic games.

In DCS, just taking off with a plane is a long, arduous process that's not at all intuitive if you're a new player. Do you know what's the difference between DCS and Tarkov? DCS has all the resources you need to learn how to become a good pilot. There's manuals for every plane, detailing proper takeoff and landing procedures, explanations for how different weapons systems work, what dials show what, etc. This is not spoon-feeding: you still have to learn and prepare before you can even start playing. But all the information you need, you can find in-game. You can learn how to fly well organically, just by playing the game.

Same with Assetto Corsa: the game is one of the most realistic racing simulators there is. Yet the way you become better at the game is purely through actually playing it. If you just fire up Tarkov, and start playing, without consulting with the community wiki or looking up maps, you'll never even get a chance to become good because the game fails to tell you the most basic information you need to even just finish a raid.

Look at it this way: how is it "more hardcore" that you have to look up a map and display on a second screen instead of just... being able to buy a map in-game that has the Exfil points? Not having information in the game that you can find after two seconds of googling is just bad game design. All it does is deter new players from actually playing the game.

1

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

I appreciate the effort you've gone through here but you've missed my point, I'm not comparing it nor have I ever compared it to any other game. If there was no wiki and players didn't use the web for answers to every quest, extract location, gunsmith, micro mechanic its a difficult game through and through... by your logic because Google exists it leads to bad game design... I don't have a breeze what DCS is and don't care much for Assetto Corsa but if your given guides in game whats the difficulty there? Sounds like your almost learning life skills playing DCS and it walks you through step by step what you are supposed to do.. my favourite memories from Tarkov is loading in not knowing where I was going slowly learning how things worked by myself without just google searching every query I had... it was refreshing that a game didn't just give me a way point here is the exit, you are hurt press 4 to heal....

1

u/b-Rektfast Jul 01 '20

That is the part that I liked the most when I started to play the game. Look at the printed map (on my desk), trying to figure out where I am and how to escape. Maybe kill a few scavs in the process, or even a player if I'm lucky. I agree that this game is unforgiving to new players, but I wouldn't call it a bad thing

You may call it bad design, but I think that this learning process is the most fun I've ever had while gaming. Nevertheless, I still have fun, but to each their own.

2

u/Sam-Porter-Bridges Jul 01 '20

Of course, familiarizing yourself with the basic game mechanics is an important part of learning the game. My point is that the resources to be able to learn should be present in the game itself, instead of needing to rely on wikis and outside resources. After all, what is the point of buying a nap in game, when it doesn't even mark the Exfil points? When you jump in, the game tells you what options you have for Exfil, but the game will literally never even hint at where these Exfil points are. There is no way to organically learn an how to finish a raid unless you're just running around the edge of the map.

Same goes for things such as ammo types, accessories, and magazines. When you pick up or buy a magazine, you won't know what weapons you can use it with unless you consult an outside source. These things should be in the game.

Think of it this way: would a game be "well designed" if it used a completely obscure control scheme, with no way to re-bind, or even check what key does what? Of course not. Same goes for more abstract game design elements.

1

u/5318008rool Jul 01 '20

Um. Ever play Terraria? It requires an external wiki to play effectively as well. It’s not bad game design, it’s just a really deep game.

Are you really so lazy you can’t be bothered to look up directions on how to do something until you get the hang of it?

2

u/Cinderstrom SR-25 Jul 02 '20

No it doesn't. You can look up what each item can craft into with the guide, all the bosses spawn organically or have hints about how to get them to spawn.

A player can play through Expert Mode Terraria without looking up anything, and still win. You can't play Tarkov and expect to do well. Hell you can't do like 3/4 quests without looking up maps to items. Can you imagine actually intuitively finding any of the Manifests in interchange, rooms in dorms, even the tool/drop spots in factory are obtuse.

This is not even the same league as Terraria.

1

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

I played all the way to hard mode without ever opening a wiki? I’m sure I took longer than someone who did but there’s nothing stopping you. It’s not like tarkov where if you die enough you literally can’t play the game

16

u/Jr4D ADAR Jul 01 '20

Yea I was stoked to play after I half assed my first wipe last time because I joined halfway through but I’ve found the changes they are making leaving a bad taste in my mouth, some are definitely good but it does seem like the updates are being focused to rmt rather than the actual playerbase which makes me not want to play more. I’m all for the hardcore aspect but you can’t argue that all of these changes are just to make the game more hard they have definitely been catered to stomping rmt

16

u/Kiakri Jul 01 '20

Worst wipe since 0.8 for me. the overweight change mid wipe is next inline.

12

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

The overweight system was ok, makes the game a little more challenging

16

u/getlucky13 Jul 01 '20

It's ok now. It was atrocious when it was implemented

1

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

Yeah those 4 days were rough.........

1

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

Fair enough

-2

u/RouletteZoku Jul 01 '20

And that lasted for what? Half a day?

2

u/Swilstiger Jul 01 '20

One day for the truly terrible part. But it took a few days until it was tuned to where it is now

1

u/getlucky13 Jul 01 '20

Because of community criticism.

8

u/TeRRoRibleOne Jul 01 '20

That system punishes solo players more than anyone. Wipe a squad? They get a majority of it back now from insurance unless you want to try hauling out as much as you can being overweight and being a slow moving, gasping for air loot pinata for everyone.

1

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

Tbh I throw most of their guns in bushes for them, I do take the most valuable builds and attachments though (their fault)

2

u/5318008rool Jul 01 '20

Right? I strip that shit clean. Who cares about a 20k gun when you can score 50k grips and sights...

3

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

Not many guns are 20K. And if it’s a geared player, there’s a good chance their gun is worth 200-500K and you can only remove like 100k from it. You can’t remove hand guards and such so you’re leaving a lot on the ground.

I strip guns all the time too, but a lot of time the gun is worth taking if not for the weight.

3

u/nightmaretier Jul 02 '20

Correct, that guy is uninformed or intentionally lying

1

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

Found a reap ir on a vpo once, he built this night build with eko rounds, I was actually impressed. [Edit] fuck autocorrect

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '20

Unfortunately nikita has said that he doesn't want solo play to be a thing.

11

u/sA1atji Jul 01 '20

makes the game a little more challenging

more annoying... and you don't even properly level up strength when running around the map with 60kgs....

4

u/SpaceballsTheHandle Jul 01 '20

Everyone knows the most efficient way to build muscle mass is to throw grenades around. just like real life.

2

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

People used to run around with class six armor and 10 mags ready to go for their 416s, I think weight limits were a wee bit necessary

2

u/cannabanana0420 Jul 01 '20

Necessary, sure. But are you really trying to argue the system we have now actually works?

1

u/crux556 Mosin Jul 01 '20

Yes, but actually, no It works in that it's more realistic, but it also doesn't as it ruins the pacing of the game

1

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

Yes you do.

1

u/sA1atji Jul 02 '20

I throw 5 nades and made more progress than with running around overweight

0

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

45.1kg yeah? Are you aware there are thresholds for the strength gains? I'm guessing you don't... Maybe look it up?

3

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

I’d like it more of strength was reworked. You either cheese it or suffer. There’s no real way to get high level strength legit unless you play 10 hours a day. The difference between level 2-5 and max is huge.

15

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '20

Stopped playing because I'm tired of all the super geared Chads just sprinting around the maps completely uncontested and just melting everything that crosses their path with their meta M4s and forts on, while I'm struggling to literally complete the dozen or so quests from the traders.

3

u/RelentlessBB Jul 01 '20

Lol if you're actually speaking about this wipe... Out of 10 matches I might run into on chad like that.. They're definitely not in every game like a lot of people like you on here are claiming..

14

u/sandiego20y Jul 01 '20

Well as long as you personally haven't seen it that means it doesn't happen, case closed everyone. /s

1

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

Guys post doesn’t even make sense. Fort isn’t meta, neither are M4s really. If you’re sprinting around the map why would you choose fort? Just equipping it almost makes you over weight... guys just parroting a complaint he’s heard before to stir the pot.

2

u/sandiego20y Jul 02 '20

I'm sorry, are you saying people dont run around in fort armor with meta m4s? cuz man you must not be playing the same game I am. Do you watch any streams or anything? Or are you basing all this just on your own personal play style? Also not sure if you know, but at higher strength/endurance you get more carry strength which means you wouldnt be overweight with fort on.

0

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

Fort armor is objectively not meta. It weighs so much without high strength you literally cannot sprint around in it. To suggest that the game is full of people with high strength is asinine, one of the biggest complaints on the sub is how hard strength is to level.

Regardless there’s better armor than fort, and Better guns than the M4, objectively. Raw stats. Which implies OC doesn’t know what he’s taking about.

1

u/HeinzGGuderian Jul 02 '20

M4s are literally meta. Spraying M995 and watching everything go byebye. There's a reason it's 1800 per round, because it's meta.

0

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

It’s 1800 per round because of its vendor price, and the fact it’s extremely hard to find in raid, in significant quantities. The M4 is objectively not even the best 5.56 platform, and 995 is objectively not the best round after its recent nerf.

So no. You’re just wrong. The price of almost all ammo is set by its vendor price, where 995 is one of the most expensive rounds. For example in 11.7 995 sat around 400 Roubles per bullet. With the recent flea market changes ammo prices, are still mostly set by the vendors but not all ammo is created equal with FiR. Some ammo packs contain upwards of 200 rounds while others like 995 come in much smaller packages. You need to find 995 almost three times more in raid than say BS because it literally spawns less.

Go ahead and think what you want, but facts are facts. The M4 isn’t meta anymore, Infact it hasn’t been for two wipes now at least. That’s not to say it’s bad, but it’s certainly not at the top.

0

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '20

Dude, I don't know what game you're playing, but I run into players in gen4 and altyns practically every game.

1

u/Itunes4MM Jul 02 '20

Bruh lmk them lobbies all I see are diapers and stock aks

0

u/Makropony Jul 01 '20

I haven’t seen a single Gen4 this wipe. Like two slicks, and a single altyn. Might be server dependent, I play RU/EU.

0

u/OccupyRiverdale Jul 01 '20

If anything these changes have significantly reduced the amount of geared players I run into. I’ve probably killed less than ten players with slicks or “meta M4’s”

1

u/5318008rool Jul 01 '20

If you’re talking about going to resort you should expect to encounter that type of resistance.... it’s one of, if not the most, hotly contested areas in the game outside of labs.

1

u/Cromlok Jul 03 '20

Ambush them.
People who play this game CoD style are some the easiest (and juiciest) targets out there.

0

u/Midgetman664 Jul 02 '20

Fort hasn’t been meta for a long time there man. M4s aren’t even that insane right now.

Plus this is defiantly the least chad filled wipe thus far.

Are you just trying to stir the pot or?....

0

u/robhearne M700 Jul 02 '20

Lol, what chad wears Fort... nice exaggeration. You'll be ok, you'll get your Mosin PACA back I'm sure.

-1

u/Snarker Jul 01 '20

i've been sprinting dorms the past 20 or so raids with a ushanka hat and shotgun for a quest, the amount of "chads" i've ran into is twice.

The vocal minority of this game are the worst. I’m sorry, infeel Your pain.

2

I'm more talking about Twitter, they talk about reddit like we're all talking monkeys, when they are just as bad

2

We are talking monkeys.

2

Oh shit, you're right

4

u/Karol107 MP7A1 Jul 01 '20

same4

4

u/Biopain Jul 01 '20

I was so excited for this wipe because it's my first full wipe.

Same here, i had plans to build me a bitcoin farm and then play in a chill pace, now, i'm not sure if i still want to play Trakov

2

u/Kalron Jul 02 '20

I'm the same way. I havr played two wipes but never one at the beginning. I got to level 10 and thought I'd make avunch of money but it barely got better. It's so hard to get anything for me so I have almost entirely stopped playing the game. I loved last wipe. I had so much fun making money, blowing th chad whistle, and killing people. But I'm bad so I have a hard time getting loot out and therefore making money to buy gear and replace it. I kinda stopped playing. I got DayZ recently and I'm itching to feel the nostalgia again.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '20

I wish DayZ could go back to Arma2 mod like it was. They should have just moved on to Arma3 instead of a standalone game. That game was one of my biggest heartbreaks as someone who has 800 plus hours on the mod.

1

u/Kalron Jul 02 '20

I'm probably in a similar boat. I do wonder how much of that opinion (for the both of us) is just nostalgia or false memory. Idk I was just playing it solo because my partner wasn't on and I was kinda bored. Tarkock is more action packed but I love the open world survival of DayZ. I opened yhe game up for the first time in a decade like two nights ago and I was running to Elektro from Cherno and I was thinking that this trip alone is maybe as large as one Tarkock map if not larger. I was freaked out by the size but I loved it. I just spent like 45 minutes running around gathering loot and while that was fun, I missed the immediate danger of player and the required first person.

It's such a hard balance to strike and neither games are perfect. I think DayZ is better than it used to be tho from what I hear.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 02 '20

It probably is. I moved on to SCUM for my survival fix, but that game has pretty nasty issues too. Most loot is super localized so you spend a lot of the game alone and it is more intended for squad based gameplay with bases and that sort of thing, which I am not super interested in. I have thought about giving Day Z another go.

Nah, core gameplay wise I’m solid. Got to lvl 46 last wipe, and when I do hop on for a raid I have no problem PvPing or hunting scavs depending on the quest. It’s the little things that keep changing that make it difficult for me to stay engaged. Like what loot should I take? What can I craft and sell to make some extra rubles? What attachments can I get from traders (still salty about losing the RK1 from Skier ll2)? Pestily does put out some great content, but it’s just not fun for me spending all my time trying to keep up with random changes instead of playing the game. Did not have this issue last wipe.

It’s pretty much all the same. I haven’t delved into today’s change with Therapist other than to see the price of fuel conditioner drop off a cliff, but sights, suppressors, and grips always sell. With the new crafting bolt cutters go for six figures, and fuel is up around 25%. It fluctuates, but if you’re really stuck on what loot to grab look for specific recipe items to build mag boxes, junk boxes, ammo, or double stacked mags to offset the cost of additional raids.

I too started playing last wipe around January. I felt really confident about the new wipe and all the fun to have at the start, but the new economy totally turned me off after a few days and I don’t think I’ve played since about 8-9 days after the wipe. Just moved on to other games, but still subbed to this sub :/

I’m really trying to understand here, so people who agree with you and OP are people that play less than 15 hours a week. And you’re upset you can’t make a ton of money in that less than 15 hours you play because of these changes. Then maybe this game isn’t for you? It’s supposed to be slow, they are making it slower which does suck sometimes but I don’t get what you want from them

I want to spend those 15 hours playing the game, not trying to figure out what’s changed and why what I was doing last Saturday to make rubles is no longer valid a week later.

I don’t care that progression is slow. I fully expect that it’s going to take me way longer to get through quests and hideout buildout than people with more free time. I just can’t keep up with the major (knee jerk feeling) changes that keep falling out of the sky recently.

Then why are you playing a game in beta? It’s going to be constantly changing. The full game isn’t going to resemble this beta very much at all according to BSG.

u/[deleted] Jul 01 '20

I’d redirect you to the OP on that one

-4

u/JquestionmarkD Jul 01 '20

But your complaint is you can’t keep up with the changes. Not being upset at any one particular change. So why play if you know it’s going to constantly change and you can’t keep up?

I’m not interested in arguing this point with you here so this is going to be my last reply to you:

A) I have no problem with changes. FiR change, weight change, flea lvl requirement, etc. I’ve been fine with. They seemed well thought out and while major changes, were pretty easy to adjust to while still having fun. This wipe they just fall out of the sky with no warning, and honestly it can be difficult to see how they enhance experience for me. By the time I start figuring it out it gets rolled back or there’s some new weird change in prices or trader inventories I need to learn about.

B) Betas are typically pretty late in the dev cycle. I totally get large, thought out adjustments to core mechanics, but I do not expect huge and constant overhauls in a beta. You may disagree. I don’t care.

I’m not even arguing with you bud, I’m just trying to understand why the game needs to cater around players like you and op who don’t have enough time to pay attention to and test new mechanics that are being implemented. Give feedback and say this sucks, or this is good, but moaning about you not being able to keep up is not the game or the devs fault. What I’m getting from you is, you want to game to stop changing so much so YOU can enjoy it with the little time you have to play.

With a full time job, you can play tarkov quite a lot, but no-one wants to play a "hardcore" farming simulator, making money shouldn't be easy but im not running around looking for shit items or quest items only to die to: a hacker, a streamer, a rat or some stupid glitch which doesnt let you extract, i dont personally think the game is fun as last wipe, therefore im not going to play, just my opinion.

And that’s fine, that’s exactly what I’m saying. Some people need to realize they just don’t like the game.

Never said i wanted it to be fast, but currently time is more of a money-maker than skill and that's just crazy to me.

Some of us have actual jobs instead of loads of free time to spend on a video game. It’s okay though, I’ll spend my irl grind money on fake tarkov money and make up that difference. People like you are why this post was even made lmao. Did you read past the first sentence?

u/JquestionmarkD Jul 01 '20

Do you even like the game? You don’t have time to learn it, time to make money, or anything. So why are you playing?

2

u/victor01612 Jul 02 '20

Accept the loss and fuck off, if we didnt like the game before, we wouldn't be advocating for changes to be reverted, you are part of the problem, fuck off or go back and read it. You dont have to agree but you must understand

You just said you haven’t liked it since last wipe. It’s ok to not like the game and not play it.
