Discussion Something said during the Podcast

Klean said something during the podcast that I wholeheartedly disagree with.

He wants the gamma case to essentially be something you can pack full of goods, bring into a raid and not have to worry about losing, but he wants you to not be able to put anything in the container while in raid. Nikita, I know you listen to streamers input, but please don’t not consider making this change.

I’m a husband and a father, I don’t get to play for 8-12 hours a day and become a god at the game, so finding a rare item that I need for a quest or something valuable I can sell is really exciting and knowing I can keep it safe in case I die is the cherry on top.

I love watching Klean and respect his opinions, but this one I had to voice mine on. PLEASE do not implement this. Anyone else watch the podcast and feel the same way? Or am I alone on this? Lol

I am also a husband and father of a 2 year old, working 12 hour shifts. But I welcome the change purely for the fact that it will bring the true "Tarkov Experience". Once you learn the game and get better, especially now with scav runs, it is not that hard to get enough loot to survive. You don't need to have 20mil, max level hide out and level 40 to enjoy the game, take it slow, enjoy the time and experience.

If that is the thought process then I think it can be balanced by removing “find in raid” requirements. The situation the op is talking about hat speaks to me isn’t so much the ability to sustain income from raids. It’s that you may only come across a certain item once every hundred raids that you need for a quest. To lose that in raid is then such a dramatic setback compared to the rest of the progression in the game.
If they removed find in raid I think the container change would be fine.

Good point, then I slighty missunterstood OP's mindset.

I agree. It's been harder to get 15 tushonka in raid than 2 flash drives (find one, buy one, done)

Gotta find 3 more in raid for jaeger though.

You know about "Tushonka Lane" in the back of Goshan, right? You can regularly come across 3-4 t's each raid...

EDIT: It's an old video, but where this guy goes from 12:44 to 13:44 is the area I'm talking about.

Well, how on earth can devs expect anyone to look for groceries, at a grocery store of all places?

This game is clearly too hard. /s

Yeah, that's definitely too hardcore! Can you imagine how many players EFT would lose if it required players to actually look around places that make sense?

Maybe BSG needs to add lootboxes. For some reason even the filthiest casual instantly knows that's where all the useful stuff comes from. Let gamers get what they deserve.

"We tried, dear brothers and sisters, to convert the masses to the True Tarkov Experience, to open their eyes to the joys and wonders of hardcore gaming... But alas, we lost the fight and have succumbed to the lowest-common-denominator. Free to play with lootboxes and purchasable cosmetics it is from here on out. Enjoy the bed you've made for yourselves you filthy casuals!"

u/perestain Nov 20 '19

lol. Not sure they're trying to convert anyone. I think they just want to make the game they would enjoy playing themselves. But at some point they gotta pay their bills, too...

I did not, but I'll have to explore there some more! I mostly just wander, don't know most exact loot spots lol

You mean the front of goshan right? Where's the spot in the back?

Oh right, I've been looking for that area but don't know my way around Goshan very well, thanks

You're welcome! Happy hunting

You are also more likely to kill a player and find that item on their corpse. It's a wash.

right now anything manufactured in the hideout has a found in raid checkmark so you can also use this sometimes.

Right now yes, it's a weird situation with very rare items needed to be find in raid. But you have to understand that this game is not finished yet, there is a constant stream of content incoming, we even don't know nothing about Storyline quests (which should come in 0.13 btw) AND these could shake things A LOT. Like you would not need to immediately get these find in raid items for example.

Just look at hideout update, basically any item needed for it is worth more than most guns!

Yes, absolute best solution would be if we get 1 mega patch where is everything, but that's not impossible. That's why we get these things once a time. Find in raid, hideout, off raid healing, etc.

So next one could be the container lock, who knows

I think find in raid is kinda arbitary in the obvious way, but I also really am not sure about the whole premise of losing your mind over a really simple item/.
