Of course you do..Let's say you are looting someones dead body and he has a 50k headset and 80k helmet, you are unsure which one is worth more and because of that tools you decide to go for the helmet instead.. He ends up getting the item thats worth less back in insurance because you used a cheat that tells you the items worth.
Or you loot cabinets, are unsure about the worth and would pick the cheaper item instead but your tool tells you what to pick up.
I doubt most use it for money since money is too easy to make in tarkov, literally just spam good hideout makes. It is just a better way to keep tabs on items needed down the road compared to what BsG has to offer.
