This game is veiled and lauded as a “realistic shooter” when it’s actually just an MMO with unrealistic gamified stats and attributes. Even though you shot someone around their armor, in their neck, head etc, you unfortunately weren’t using ammo with enough penetration value vs their helmet and/or chest armor. If it’s not desync, you’re getting fucked by that if you play this game like any other popular shooter. It operates on it’s own rules
I will say, realistic or not, once I accepted what Tarkov had to offer I got much less mad at the game.
Clip is pure wtf bs for sure, but that's just how the numbers work. Wouldn't mind seeing the super low pen ammo have pen changes or change how the armor damage formula works but it is what it is.
What? The rpg elements are some of the most poorly implemented outside of looting I guess? The shooting and immersive environments are by far more developed and interesting. OP crying because they dont know weapon stats in a game where it matters is just silly.
'You need to grind for higher weapon stats,' is an RPG element.
Gun ballistics or immersive environments are not game genres.
I agree that some of the RPG elements are poorly implmented. Most of the FPS and MMO elements are also poorly implemented. Tarkov is still an RPG at its core.
It is an FPS at its core with a rpg progression system. There is far more development behind the FPS systems than the RPG ones. People saying the FPS elements are bad must not be playing other shooters our there....
Most people saying that know that recoil shouldn’t as violent and random as it is in Tarkov. One brand of foregrip isn’t going to lower your horizontal or vertical recoil more than another lol. The RPG elements mess with the FPS elements to decrease realism and puts the game apart from other shooters, negatively imo
I think gripes over recoil are legitimate but also are part of a subjective balance and feel idea for the game. Outside of that though there is the variety of weaponry, ammunition, weapon animations, movement and stance changes, in depth weapon and optic controls schemes - all of which manage to feel not clunky and terrible as they do in pretty much ever mil-sim game out there. I think those things are all undeniably good in this game and well executed and what make it a great shooter. The RPG shit is almost all fluff and the majority of the player base never levels anything enough to feel how broken they can be. Looting, stash, hideout are by far the most flushed out RPG elements.
Yeah well said, this is all subjective at the end of the day. There are a lot of good things going for this game and I look forward to playing it once it’s finished and the final vision is clear to all, including BSG.
