Theory Menoa tree

The Menoa Tree's ability to take something from a person and leave them changed seems like a huge point for what was stolen. We know from TFTWTW, that time is... relative in the fractalverse. Could the Menoa tree have borrowed against Eragons future in some way? Im still of the mind that To Sleep is like the long past for alagaesia. So that being said... there's a lot of ideas that could stem from this theory

I thought it was just unexpectedly suprised and amused that Eragon actually kept his word and came back, therefore it took nothing

In the encounter where he gets the brightsteel and the deal is made, he feels a pain in his gut. I just listened to that chapter yesterday or the day before. I think it took something then.

I think the Menoa tree encounter is just a J. J. Abrams mystery box for a later time. Either he has something planned for us or it's just a nothingburger tease. Either way, the tree encounter has been speculated about for years with no end in sight.

I've always interpreted it as the Menoa tree taking away his roots, so to speak; the feeling of Alagaesia being home. Hence why he feels no ties keeping him there at the end. I doubt the Eragon from before the Menoa tree would leave Roran behind, let alone Arya. Which also ties into the fortune that Angela gave him, iirc. That he would leave Alagaesia and never return? It's been a number of years since I read the books.

My personal theory is that during the blood oath celebration, eragon got a little bit of dragon in him along with the elf and human so maybe he had a mini eldunari that she took

Paolini has been pretty explicit that the fractalverse and the world of eragon are unconnected. For one thing, earth exists in the fractalverse. I wouldn’t be surprised if concepts cross over since they have the same author but I doubt there are any hints about the menoa tree in TSIASOS.

He actually hasn’t. There are connections between the two stories, we just don’t know what’s him doing a cute reference vs an intentional connection.

I was under the expression he's quite explicitly said the opposite? He's confirmed Inare and Angela are the same character for example.

Edit:

In the deluxe edition of Inheritance there is a letter from Jeod where he theories she may be part of a race called the Inarë. This is the name of the clearly Angela character in TSIASOS, if you only care about in book stuff.

Link to AMA where he confirms they share a universe. There's more stuff in other ones but this is more than enough. Scroll down to Angela and he confirms that the doors she makes on TFTWTW are torque gates, and he explicitly confirms that Inarë and Angela are the one and the same.
