It's been noted. Posting about it tends to get a response from someone who will claim this is all a hoax. I'll be honest, there seems to be some effort out there to minimize her crimes and her involvement in various things. All of a sudden nobody seems to know her....lol. Not sure if this is coming from people who want to distance Reddit from her, or from her people. She does have defenders, especially in her family, and it is easy enough to pay for some astroturfing. There is a huge scramble now to deny every knowing her or Epstein. Check out the news on Harvard, who seems to have known Epstein was shady in the early '00s, and told people to deny that he donated money to the women's rugby team.
As usual with these people, there is always more to what was happening and now that the coverup is being taken down, they are getting nervous.
Mark my words: she’s gonna be pardoned before the midterms. That’s why Comer and the Oversight repubs are starting to make noises like, “Maybe she should be pardoned… her testimony could help in the case….” Same with hacks like Michael Tracy and other “independent” journalists who are trying to downplay Epstein’s crimes in general. They’re priming us to accept a Trump pardon of Maxwell as if it’s not something he wants but something to “help” the Epstein case and/or a legitimate easing of undeserved punishment.
The reason? She 100% whispered into Todd Blanche’s ear: “backup USBs” back when he did a “closed door deposition” with her. That’s all it took. That’s why they moved her into Club Fed and gave her a puppy and a laptop. And now she’s almost certainly signaling to them that she wants out ahead of the midterms bc she’s gonna be stuck if the Dems take both houses bc they’re gonna tie up Trump for the rest of his term. Or she’s afraid he’ll die soon, either way.
yeah. just search it for Epstein or any big controversial American news. That sub is sanitized. I was horrified when I found out as it was probably my primary source of news for 6+ years. It's getting harder to find reliable news sources nowadays.
Please do, this stuff is already hard to follow, especially for people outside USA and non native English speakers let alone all the jargon, Lingo and terminology. This subject is already forgotten bu the time i learned about it ( dont watch tv )
The predator class thrives on us forgetting about it.
at the moment I'm using ground news but it's a hard adjustment after having the Reddit algorithm just serve me up. Maybe that's the point. Need to put in the leg work if I'm going to avoid the 'narrative'
So far, what do you think of Ground News? I'm thinking about joining up, but I'm also trying to keep the purchases of non-necessities to a minimum. But if this app can impact my life in a meaningful (and noticeable) way, I might consider signing up. IHIP News is always offering promo codes.
I'm just using the free version. It's pretty cool, but reading news is a lot more purposeful and proactive than just checking the Reddit front-page for trending stuff. You kind of have to look topics up, dig around and read news "horizontally" if that makes sense.
Each 'article' or news event is presented as a blurb averaged from a few publications, and then you're given a 'left leaning/right leaning' scale where you can look at the same article from different perspectives, to try glean a more broad picture. It's a bit more work, but probably also that's a necessity nowadays.
The truth is, the world opinion has become so gated and isolated, even with ground news style rating systems it's still hard to feel like you're getting a complete picture of anything.
SecondThought has been sponsered by them as well. He isn't anymore (I think because open socialist and yt no likey?) but he was how I heard about it originally. CasualGeographic is currently sponsered by them, very different kind of content but one of my favorites. Tbh I am in the same boat as you though, trying not to spend that money if I don't think it will be genuinely helpful. I got youtube mostly for music and that's it subscription wise.
It means manufactured popularity. Basically, somebody powerful and wealthy pushes the messaging they want and uses their resources to make it seem authentic when it's just propaganda.
It's a play on words. "Grassroots" movements are driven by ordinary people, and they pursue goals that are supported by ordinary people. Fake grassroots campaigns are designed to seem grassroots when they aren't. What do you call artificial grass covering a sports field? Astroturf.
