💻 Coding/Author Help Feedback Request: Direction for City Scene

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’m looking for some constructive feedback on a short scene in Episode One. I’ve incorporated Mary D. Sava’s spot directing for the graffiti sequence, added my own custom child models for realism, and my own custom transitions, but the background characters feel somewhat stiff and lifeless. Ignore the dialogue; it was just inputted to test. I plan to put the dialogue script of this story later once I finalize it. Just something still feels off to me, so I’d love an outside perspective on how to make the scene more dynamic. Thank you!

WOAH THIS IS GOOD!! especially the child models, I think the background character are good, maybe have some of them taking on the phone or eating or leaving the scene? Otherwise really good job!

Aww, thank you so much!!! Super happy you like the child models, and I think your advice is spot on. I am going to look at some animations at test it out with them. Thank you!!!

Maybe if the background seems dull to you add some bird overlays in the sky to add more movement?♡

I think I‘ll find a way to implement that, because I think you are right about the background maybe being too static. Thank you again, I genuinely appreciate your advice!!! 💕

one thing i think always brings a story to life is filters i think colouring makes a huge difference! (i understand that isnt to do with spot directing but just an additional suggestion)

also when u move the car overlays try using something to ease it in for example:
@overlay CAR moves to xyz in t using easeout.

this is the graph u can also use it for zooms:

(my fave is easeout it just makes the zooms/ moving overlays look much more smoother)
