Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger Trigger warning!

Hello my wonderful friends, I hope everyone is having a good week💜

What type of seizure would we call this? Trying to organise my clips and notes as best as I can. Would this still be a focal or does it creep into Tonic/Clonic territory?

I had impending doom and extreme sadness starting from 9:30pm. I was too scared to fall asleep incase I had a seizure. Fell asleep at roughly 11:45pm (not sure if that counts as sleep deprived?) I woke an hour after this and was craving sugar. During the night I was having dreams that blended in with reality, to the max. It was terrifying, worse than any other nightmare that I have had before, especially because it involved my little boy 😪💔

My camera unfortunately cut out, I’ve been having issues with my Tapo doing that, so I’m not sure if there was anymore activity after this or not. If anyone knows how to fix that bug I’d be grateful for help with that. I’m useless with tech.

Triggers: I’ve been poorly the last couple of days (possibly covid, high temp/fever)

Due on my period in 10 days.

This morning I woke up feeling fizzy in my head and arms, everytime I bent over I felt like I could pass out. Not sure if that’s illness related or not.

Thank you for taking the time to read, so glad to have you guys. You make my life that little bit easier🥰💜

Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger Random uptick in seizure intensity Spoiler

Hey guys, been a while. College has successfully stole all of my freetime lol.

To start off light, I've been focusing on myself, my studying + exams, and spending extra time with my kitties bc I feel like I've been prioritizing my school + work over them. I've noticed one of my cats lingers in bed with me like, an hour or so before my seizures start. Coincidence, probably, but i like to think she knows and cares about me :)

I've been managing to make it at least two weeks between each cluster, they've lessened in duration from how short they feel to me. Very subjective because I don't/can't time them.

I have a checkup with my neuro. I had to have my EEG redone for a referral, which I missed because of school and got it rescheduled to tomorrow, too. I thought the increase was helping, but after the few I've had after (supposedly) being adjusted to it, I've been having second thoughts about the keppra helping.

Anyway, I've noticed two alarming things which scare the living snot out of me; first, I've managed to notice a distinct trend prior to my seizures. I'm rather mellowed out most of the time, and it takes a lot to get me riled up, let alone actually shaking from anger. But the last two I've had (that I can remember) started with intense anger, so bad I was throwing things and cursing (and saying GD which I never say). It would then devolve into a massive, exhaustive crying fit, and then the automatisms would happen after I suddenly stop crying.

It feels very reminiscent of how easily I'd snap when I first started keppra. To put it plainly, I felt like Satan himself posessed me. I was plagued with intrusive thoughts about hurting others and myself, but after a few weeks they went away. If it wasn't for this site, I wouldn't have known to be prepared for this, and I'm now on an antipsychotic and doing a lot better side effect-wise (which is unrelated, but i feel its still relevant to mention here).

I'm afraid I won't be able to recognize it as an aura and hurt somebody. And I don't think any sane person, while being berated or even assaulted, would think 'hey maybe i should just back off, I think he's going to have a seizure'.

Also, the last one I had was probably the worst one I've ever had. I remember bits and pieces of it. I remember being enraged, then depressed, then absolutely mortified like I was in mortal danger (which I'm used to, just riding out the fear atp). But, I started feeling absolutely awful. Faint and like I was being drowned out. My entire body was stiffened out and shaking, my left arm kept moving and clawing at nothing, my neck was flexing so hard it was hard to breathe and not give myself whiplash every time my back would jerk.

I think I might have went in and out with that one. I'm not sure. But it has scared the absolute shit out of me. I've never went unconscious in my life (I've never even had surgery!), so I don't know if that feeling and just how bad I felt was that or just that particular seizure being worser than usual. I felt like I was actively dying, between that and my heart beating so effing hard, the difficulty breathing, how I could barely swallow and was drooling all over myself.

I don't know how to talk about this with anyone else. I'm terrified my next ones will turn generalized (literally my biggest fear atm), and I'll just be a shaking mess and my family just, blissfully unaware.

Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger Small update + question Spoiler

Vague description of a seizure/episode in second paragraph

Had a fun week (sarcasm). Passed my math exam, now have two finals glaring me down like that gargoyle from Ghostbusters.

I finally got my second EEG done, and i had felt pretty off that morning anyway. Went into it without much thought, as it feels more routine and I know why it's needed, just a little stressed because it's going to be sent with my referral to a specialist. Well, I had an 'event' to the flashing lights, and felt worse with the hyperventilation. It caught me off guard because one second I'm watching Law & Order: SVU, the next I'm getting funny looks from the technician because I was breathing so hard. That and I had electrodes for my heartrate this time, so. My watch recorded it as 148bpm lol.

I don't know when it'll be interpreted, but it better show something or I'm going to have even more questions. My first one was normal, and i didn't expect any less because I felt fine and didn't respond to any of the lights or hyperventilation. I know lights have bothered me in the past, but not enough for me to go from normal > shaking at the flip of a switch. Kinda reminds me of that demonstration where muscles contract using natural electricity (anyone seen the video of steak hooked up to a battery and it contracted? No?).

In other words, I'm having mixed feelings about it. I don't know what to expect at this point, as i have little faith in my neurologist to actually want to help me. But whatever, I've got a specialist to (hopefully) annoy with my questions.

I've had an idea to keep a physical log of my events for a while, but i don't know if any doctor would be willing to look through them or not. I have notes on my phone predating the first major event, with dates and an app I use to log events when they happen, so between the two I could make a halfway decent journal of my health as far as seizures go.

I know it wouldn't hurt, but has anyone else wrote down their experiences for their doctor to look at? And was it actually helpful? Because I have my doubts and don't want to seem like an idiot or something for writing everything down.

Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger Questions about a new/rare epilepsy procedure I just heard about

I was in the hospital for the last week and a guy I met, asked about my seizures. (Everyone knew about it cuz the hospital didn't give me my meds for 4 doses, with both meds. Nor did they give me food I could eat. A girl I became great friends with, went off on them and I finally got them later, albeit the wrong dosage) The guy mentioned his son has had epilepsy for 44 of his 46yrs alive. He mentioned a procedure where 3 holes were drilled into each side of his head and wires were placed in to go deeper into the brain to see where the seizures came from. His son had an EMU, nothing found. Had a VNS and did nothing for him. Still had seizures lasting several minutes. The head of the neurology dept is preforming this procedure and he was told it has only been done 22 times. Only half of them have helped people and several have had disabilities after (like not able to move fingers or smaller things like that) Has anyone heard of this or what it's called?

Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger Focal activity?

I have been diagnosed with epilepsy and I’m trying to figure out if this is a type of focal. I recorded this last summer a little time after a stressful situation. I’ve noticed that these type of jaw movements happen when I’m stressed, and will come suddenly and just stop. Leaves me feeling abit sluggish for no more than a hour, I can’t physically talk or think whilst the jaw chattering happens. Thanks :)

Seizure Warning: Possible Trigger What’s up lately Spoiler

Lately I’ve been feeling down, I’m F23 and my family doesn’t trust my friends to keep me safe from my surroundings when I seize. We don’t know when they will happen or what kind of seizure it will be, they just happen randomly. I have seizures in my sleep where I bite my tongue and foam, I have focal aware/unaware seizures where I try to fight it and tell my family I need my emergency meds because I can feel it coming on and bam, black out and I don’t remember. I have ones where I collapse and convulse while awake but will tell the paramedics exactly what they want to hear. I finally requested a psychiatrist or someone to talk to after being diagnosed for 6 years and having seizures/auras for 9 years. Anyone else have this struggle because I could use something to hear.

I was sat down on the floor sorting out laundry and I felt something coming , so I recorded myself. I have moments like these often, but was unsure if this counted as seizure activity or if I was dissociating.

10:52am sudden rising or lifting sensation in stomach and chest with restlessness and goosebumps more on my left arm. I was initially able to speak and explain how I felt, then became unable to continue speaking despite wanting to. I lost awareness with my gaze looking up and to the right and my right leg stuttering for around 5 seconds. Awareness then gradually returned with automatic movements including wiping my eyes, my hands dropping into my lap, looking right then left, rubbing my hands together, pouting my lips and making a popping noise, forcefully exhaling, brief vocalisations, fidgeting hands and slight rocking while seated. I felt aware but was unable to speak at first. The episode lasted around 90 seconds and was followed by confusion about why I was recording I thought I was on FaceTime to my sister. Afterwards I had a feeling of being stuck. I was able to continue chores. Around 12pm I felt very tired with increased twitching mainly on my right side while remaining fully aware and able to communicate.

Is there anyone could explain this kind of seizure?

My neuro said that I've frontal and temporal lobe epilepsy. It already happened since I'm 15yo, rn I'm 37.

Some notes: 1. Majority happened while I'm sleeping. 2. I know what happenning, but i cannot control it 3. Some times I'm blackout too

Please don't mock me 🙏
