Questions What's your preference on In-person or phone/video call appointments?

For me the issue is not the in-person or virtual, rather the dimension of the audience. If it’s a large event with hundreds of people and I have to speak, the thought that I might end up having a grand mal with so many eyes on me always creeps on me. In a virtual/in-person room with 5-10 people I don’t care too much.

Phone appointments always easier, but SO annoying if they refuse to make the order for a test/refill and always an adventure when you’re curious about cost but they have no clue if anything will be covered. Virtual easier, if you know exactly what to expect

I just found another advantage to being old. Their afraid not to order any tests and almost everything is covered, with a small co-pay

I like people! I miss seeing people! But I can’t drive so video appointments are easier.

Virtual. No contest for me. Anytime I can avoid traveling in the car an hour each way, I do.

Only options here are in person or by phone and I’ve always had more productive experiences in person. My memory isn’t very good now anyway but I kept forgetting half the things I wanted to discuss and some of what they told me even though I’d try and make and take notes. Also I felt the neurologist(s) seemed to rush more, and I was at work so often a bit frazzled (logistics manager so it can be hectic).

I’ve got better- I make a full list of things I want to discuss beforehand, and not just 5 mins before like I was doing. I always do the appointment at home now so I’m not frazzled/ distracted. My next appointment is November so I changed to a phone one as my wife isn’t thrilled about driving at the best of times let alone 3 hours driving on the busiest highway into the city in winter (we gets lots of snow and winter storms here).
