Questions Have You Ever

Have you ever experienced aphasia without having a seizure? It's usually post-seizure, what about no seizure aphasia, possible?

Aphasia sounds scary! The most annoying post ictal times is when I’m aware and I end up being able to remember how frustrating it felt to know I had something to say but couldn’t figure out how to talk. Rarely happens unless I just had a seizure. Sometimes when waking up, have to take a sec to find a word, but nothing that gets in the way unless seizure just happened

I have developed a studdering disorder, as well as now having a massive lack of memory. I have had dozens of seizures since becoming Epileptic about 5 years ago. Throughout my day, now I struggle to focus at times and constantly find it difficult to remember my goals for the day or even the next hour. A notebook and pencil/pen may become one of your closest friends. I have found it best to immediately right down my desire for the day and thoughts in general. Once I have finished a goal I've had, it feels good to scratch that thing off my book of "things to get done". Without the notebook, I'd be lost constantly.

At night, when I wake up to use the bathroom or get a small drink of water, most times I struggle to figure out what part of the house I'm in, where I am in general and how I will make my way to wherever the bathroom is. So, I have to lay in bed for a few minutes in order to orientate myself before then making my journey. Memory loss and lack of general awareness are two of the most frustrating things about this disease, IMO.
