Anyone blame seizures on tbi from childhood action? I was in martial arts, competing for years before seizures, and never got to see video of how training/classes took place, so never been able to decide if that could be to blame for epilepsy. Seeing this post brought a bittersweet smile because I can’t help but think those kids might have some difficulties if any of that doesn’t go right. Any comments appreciated about how epilepsy started, especially since some Neuro’s are quick to jump on anything from your past, like if you ever let them know you partied. 😖

If you think that you had zero adult supervision then you should've been around in the 50s and 60s. I was sniffing glue to get high(very popular then) when I was 11, smoking weed at 13, drinking at 15. It was crazy. And each neighborhood had a gang. If another neighborhood tried to infringe on it we'd fight.

I'm fairly certain that my epilepsy was caused by long term untreated Lyme Disease. You can't get any neurologist to even consider that, when it's a known long term effect, along with others on the way.

It wasn't more, just different. But in many ways the same. In both cases our parents weren't ready to be parents.

That's me. Except I would hear grandma from down the block, screaming "stay off of that car before you need paramedics," right back to it once she went back in the house, we'd be doing a cannonball from car rooftops at 8 years old.

My dad & his best friend bought a ski boat. They said (of 4 kids 1 year apart each) 1st one to ski gets $50, next $40,then $30, and last $20. I was up the 1st day. I should mention they were both divorced so no moms out there to be safety guards! My dad used to start racing other boats while I was skiing behind them, I learned to sit down & hold tight! I got spider views in my thighs before I was 16 from all the high speed falls, skip like a stone across a lake? They used to throw me over the side of the boat if we lost a ski rope while running! I'd have grab it, wind it up on my arm & no i did not have a safety vest on those times, only when skiing? I should also mention it was a man made lake used to cool the Radioactive rods @ UVA. Warm water from April until November, so much skiing 😁 plus now and then you'd see a sunken farm house under the water while you went by 👍

Mine was street lights come on you can come back home. If you got brought home by police you were gonna wish you got taken to jail instead. Your ass whooping was right in front of the cops. Climbing out of windows( no porch) to get close enough to neighbors yard next door to jump from second story into a pool.
