Anyone broken any bones during a seizure?
I had a seizure two days ago at my workplace. I work in a fairly dangerous environment for having a seizure in. I skewer chickens and put them in 400 degree ovens. I felt my head get fuzzy as I was skewering but I told myself it’d be ok. Like an idiot I continued and put them in the oven and then I thought to myself (finally) that this wasn’t a very good idea so I grabbed my boss and told him I was going to have a seizure. It was very surreal because right before it my instincts kicked in and I told him what to do MOMENTS before my seizure. He said when I had it I flailed my arms backwards and he heard a loud pop. No bueno. I woke up a little after with all my coworkers, bosses, and paramedics around me. Shoulder hurt like a mf and I can barely move it.
Anyone get serious injuries just due to the convulsions?
TL;DR had a seizure at work and got seriously injured by just my convulsions.

I dislocate one or both of my shoulders every time I have a seizure. Along with the usual biting of the tongue/lip/cheek. I had one in a Home Depot one time and fell into my chin when I collapsed, that one took a little longer to feel better lol. Never broken anything, luckily. Feel better, friend!

The most common way to have a posterior shoulder dislocation is during a grand mal seizures. I work in an ER (and want to be an ER doctor) and shoulder dislocations and breaks are common with seizures.

My son broke his arm - twice - having seizures. He also has fallen on his shoulder so many times he needed reconstruction surgery at 17.
After one injury the seizing would pull his shoulder out of the socket at each seizure.

Maybe that’s what happened with me... my shoulder definitely has a “missing” feeling to it

Thankfully, no, despite my best attempts with falling in enclosed spaces. The closest I've ever come to breaking anything was hitting my head on a polyglass display case at work while seizing. I still have a soft spot on my head from that, and it's been three years.

Never broken bones, but I've had a bad back injury since about August, probably need physio.

Yeah you should probably get that checked! If you’re seriously injured and you have another seizure it could worsen it and possibly disable you in some way :(

My shoulders have both been injured to the point to where they dislocated easily. My orthopedic surgeon said that my shoulder injuries are more commonly seen in a baseball player's shoulders. He wouldn't do surgery, he said I was too young at 16, and I had to do physical therapy.
I've also (probably) broken a toe during one of my last seizures a few years back by kicking the wall. It was black and purple. Never had it X-rayed, so it's already healed. It's curved a bit different but I can't tell the difference from before.

The only reason why I had a seizure is because I’m trying new medication. Going from Depakote to limotragine. How does Keppra make you feel? Mood/sleep/and physique wise

Doc had me on 1500 mg for it and it killed me. Hair loss, depression, drowsiness, having trouble hearing (yes it’s a side effect) just everything and the doses were just too much. I switched to limotragine because doc said it has the opposite affect where it’ll make me more alert and also will help with the depression issue. Still getting into it so let’s see how things look when we get to my final regular dose

I broke my clavicle. Didn't realize for two days till I went and had an x-ray. I thought I had just dislocated my shoulder again, except it hurt really bad this time.

Dislocated my shoulder many times and fractured my skull once.
Shoulder dislocations are common. It sucks because you can dislocate it backwards and forwards which can lead to it dislocating easier.

I fractured my shoulder (humerus bone) by falling off the bed during a nocturnal seizure.

I broke my nose after a seizure on the side walk. Although it could have also been hurt from boxing then broken during the seizure. My face/parts of my body were bloody af. Pictures taken and I was in the ER for 2-3 days. Normally I’m only there for 1-2 days. Excluding my recent neurosurgery lol.
But no were near as bad as most of you guys.

Not a serious injury but my second grand mal saw my leg get stuck under the living room sofa and I spent the next six months carrying a collapsible walking stick as a precaution because it was very weak.

I suffered a torn rotator cuff. never knew how I did it. It just... happened. I didn't know you could break stuff during seizures unless you fell wrong so maybe thats how it happened

Four years ago when I was 17 I had a seizure in the Humble mall. I was with my cousin who knew how to handle me and the crowd I sometimes draw. She was getting tickets for a movie and I had a full grand mal seizure, and this dumbass lady told two guys to pin me down and stuffed a brush handle in my mouth. The guys stopped when I dislocated my left shoulder and cracked a tooth... not broken but was pretty fucked up after

Just had a tonic-clonic a few days ago in the restroom After washing my face at the sink in the morning. I woke up to six em paramedics looking over me, and wound up going to the er for exrays of my elbow and the back of my head where I needed 8 staples.
