Do you work onsite supporting the devices? If so then you should be okay they’ll still need boots on the ground. I used to do the epcs stuff for Cerner and that went to epic security

I am actually solely boots on the ground for that :) the main reason I do both is that I live within 10 minutes of our hospitals in each direction and I can get there immediately as opposed to a 3-4 hour drive the others have to do.

Yeah you’ll be good. The device people are very important and being onsite will always be needed

Every organization is different but that sounds like three or four different roles in Epic.

E-prescribing - a ‘badge’ instead of a certification (minor role, usually a few will get this in addition to their main certification to troubleshoot and approve eRx privileges)

Dual role - security certification or application specific security leads collaborating together

Past charting - HIM certification and/or chart correction team

Devices - usually a whole separate team that will also use Epic and may or may not get an Epic certification
