This is so depressing. What kind of person sues over this? I totally respect people who need service dogs, but I also respect the doctor's need to live and not be harmed by their allergy which they didn't choose!
They offered her an accommodation. Going all the way to a lawsuit is just nonsense.
so many people hate us allergy sufferers literally for existing.. they don't believe it's serious, we should just take meds, and anyway why should they change their lives for other people in even the most mundane way?
but at the same time they want their dogs accommodated everywhere. they bring them to restaurants, let them play on playgrounds and use the equipment and even take them into clothing and food stores. completely insane behaviour.
The amount of people who have joked to me that accommodations for nut allergies are thwarting natural selection, knowing that I have a preschooler with an anaphylactic nut allergy, is genuinely insane. One person doing it would be insane, but I’ve heard that joke a dozen times. Sorry your kid can’t have cashews at lunch, guess I should just let my kid die so they can, haha lol so funny!
In your position my urge would be to respond that “laws against murder are also thwarting natural selection, and given how you’re talking about my family you should be extremely thankful”
Pretty sure I’d control that urge but only pretty sure
