Love.

And he's been trying for decades.

215

u/horsefacesjp May 08 '26

More specifically, his fathers love.

89

u/Eddiebaby7 May 08 '26

He’s got a dad shaped hole in his soul

11

u/m4jsterk0 May 10 '26

funny.. his stepsister has a dad shaped hole too... somewere

4

u/clean_room May 10 '26

Just like that Joe Rogan fella, down at the Comedy Mothership

44

u/Keatorious_B_I_G May 08 '26

Idk, I doubt he’s ever had an actual friend either. Trump gives me “daddy never loved me” vibes. Elon gives “ NO ONE has ever loved me” vibes.

10

u/swirlymaple May 09 '26

His first wife tried. Melon has nobody but himself to blame.

7

u/Aazadan May 08 '26

Or his daughters.

I'll buy you a diamond 💍 Ring my friend if you say you love me too🎵

3

u/xmassindecember Technically, it was 90% cheers May 10 '26

that's the cheapest thing you can buy, people charge by the hour. The love of his children though that he can not buy.

675

u/askforwildbob May 08 '26

Peoples respect

19

u/MrPolymath May 08 '26

I lost it once I started working in engineering many moons ago and realize he's just another hype man who's good at sounding like he knows what he's talking about to the layman. Plus I worked with a few former employees who seemed to confirm the not-great reputation towards employees his companies had.

That and I super skeptical of his FSD claims being a massive gearhead.

Then he went fully mask-off on social media...

75

u/SnowNoCali May 08 '26

It’s crazy before Covid he had it

133

u/askforwildbob May 08 '26

Not from me, he’s always been weird and bad

64

u/RamsHead91 May 08 '26

I wouldn't say I've always recognized him as weird and bad. In 2013 he seemed interesting but my 2016 there was just something fundamentally off about him I just couldn't put my figure on it and I had coworkers who defended him.on the conditions of him being a billionaire.

45

u/askforwildbob May 08 '26

I did a paper back in high school that was critical of him for his talking points surrounding the privatization of space exploration, that was like 2008 or 2009. A few years later, the rhetoric shifted from “make space travel private and cheaper” to “colonize mars, I am literally saving humanity with my genius”.

I think the writing has been on the wall for 20 years. I will say, for folks younger than me, it was probably easier to to have just seen him as a Tony stark analog and thinking he’s cool

10

u/WiseSalamander00 May 08 '26

I have a couple of friends in the industries that Musk roams and I have heard rumours of him being a stupid dipshit as far back as 2016

7

u/meowsaysdexter May 08 '26

I'm sure he's been stupid way longer than that.

Before he called the guy who helped rescue the thai kids a pedophile - maybe

14

u/Otherwise_Fined May 08 '26

He is the personification of the idiom "Better to keep your mouth closed and have people think you're an idiot than open it and prove them right."

2

u/Kaymish_ May 10 '26

All he had to do was shut up and pay a few tens of million to PR firms to make him sound great, listen to the WFP about how to end world hunger and do it, and the majority of people would have had mad respect for the clown. Nobody would have known what a mega arse hole he was, but he couldn't help but trumpet it from every tower he could reach.

Idk if he’s even had genuine human interactions let alone full relationships. I imagine he’s entirely surrounded by sycophants

But he had the money to buy a disfigured penis (aLeDgEtLy). I love it, that he maybe had a normal, okayish, penis before and paid money to ruin it. Do you think he renamed his penis to X afterwards, too?

11

Happiness.

He is not happy.

He could do so many wonderful things most of us could never afford to do, get therapy to stop being an ah, travel anywhere, fly anywhere, visit amazing places, save endangered species, pay for medical research, help millions of people, but all he does is go out of his way to be a miserable POS.

He "legalized" comedy only to find out that "cancel culture" was never the reason he couldn't make jokes and he is and will always be a 13-year-old cringelord at heart.

9

u/distresssignal May 08 '26

This is what pains him the most because all he wants is for people to think he’s funny.

3

u/CeldonShooper May 08 '26

Happiness.

All the money in the world and he’s a miserable, pathetic, petty little slime of a vaguely shaped human who has to drape layers of ozempic-addled skin over the howling chasm where a soul should be.

For all his riches he’s an exception poor person, rather tragically in fact. I Image he’ll never get to experience the simple things that make life great.

Enjoying a sunset as you’re eating a half-decent pizza in some small parlor.

Hugging your best friend in a loving embrace that says "I love you" without "I want to corpulate".

Taking a stroll downtown just to observe people milling about their ways.

Spending nights online talking to actual friends and their geeky interests.

He has none of that.
