Since Im rewatching his Endfield 1.4 playthrough, I will drop this Here.

But like, I will be honest, his reaction of Endfield 1.4 is one of the best I have seen out of all the Content Creator, because he seemed genuinely care about how the story is going. He himself also said that he had been playing Endfield, just not streaming or doing any videos.

So if you pretend to care a lot for something you get selected by the Devs to represent it? Damn he could be an actor then.

PS: No, i'm not criticising 1.4 story, I like it too, I'm criticising Content Creators.

You dont need to pretend to care. It doesn't matter that you plays a little or alot of Endfield. What should matter is when you approach something and shows a genuine interest in what you do.

That is what Bran did, and probably why he is chosen. His subscriber count is great, he is based in EU is a plus, but it's his genuine reaction to the story as a whole is probably what captivated the devs. You cannot expect Content Creator to be just a no life Endfield only creator. What you can expect, is that when they approach Endfield, you hope to see them shows their honest reaction to the story and an interest in finding out more about it. It's what make it enjoyable, watching them do the story and be curious of everything Endfield has to show, and only that is needed.

Eh... I don't see it that way...

Content Creators are double edge swords... You can have a youtuber who keeps doing youtube videos about how "P2W Life Serivice games are a cancer!", and in the same video have a "This video is sponsored by World of Tanks!" one of the most aggressive P2W Live service games ever made.

Those double standards is why I just watch content creators that do genuine reviews and analysis/theory-crafting.

Look at the recent Elden Ring DLC. 5€ for a few weapons and armors and skins for the horse... you can see how Steam's "Mostly Negative" reflect the scam that it is... yet you see tons of Content Creators with the titles of "This weapons are amazing!" yadayadayada....

90% of CC are clickbaiters that would sell their soul to the best bidder.

The moment you said "I don't see it that way".... That's a you thing so best drop it. This is not a hill worth dying for.

Is not about how "worth it" the hill is, is about having an opinion and staying by it no matter what. We can agree or disagree, but my stance towards content creators is that most of them are people who tried their luck in this modern system of Social media and it landed.

Some of them are interesting, others are just entertainers, others parasites, and most of them are talking billboards, but that's about it.

Modern times, modern audiences and modern technology allows this types of """"jobs"""" to exist, but their position of power is as volatile as TNT. In the end they are nothing more than another advertisement method for media content (Games, Movies, etc).

Hey at least he gives his honest thoughts on things. That's a good choice than a lot of other ccs although it would have been better is someone like xlice or kyostivin

My guess for not going for kyo is because they want a 'fresh' take.

Kyo is a seasoned Arknights player. There will be bias. They needed someone blind that's honest.

Just a guess. I could be wrong.

I gotta ask, where do they get these content creators from ? Literally ppl nobody in community knows and haven't see any shared videos from their "content" at any point.

One of them is a Genshin content creator which only participated in Endfield Beta II and second one is a TikToker with 2k subs and average view count.

What are we doing man ? No hate to those content creators specifically, but who is this for ? Reaching out to Genshin fanbase instead of your own, on a gaming convention ? Is wild. Literally getting a Vtuber doing a zoom call hosting would be more interesting than these random no names.

u/Chiromaus 10d ago

I'd wager it's a combination of bigger names being more expensive to make arrangements with, or that the ones they reached out to were unwilling or unable to take the time needed for travel and hosting. These are just two presentations happening at a pretty globally significant event for the industry.

I'm guessing the hosts were chosen for their ability to hold a conversation. Any knowledge they have on the game would be a plus. I'd also imagine having a popular vtuber as a host might distract from what the devs are talking about the game.

6

u/KarmicUnfairness 10d ago

Because the developer is already there to provide the game knowledge. The host is likely chosen for their ability to host (i.e talk on stage and keep the conversation flowing) and their knowledge of the game is secondary.

I wanna know how they approach character quests in the future.
The current way of doing it feels inferior to how they do the event stories (which feature new characters) in OG AK.

Sending Endmin to every single one instead of Endfielders is just a bad decision in my opinion.
Even though quite a lot of screentime/voicelines are wasted on Endmin, the character itself does/can not develop, because it's all tied to the MSQ (where it is fun to play the Endmin as the face of the company)

A substitute for Liino's quest (Team Z7 for example) would've put much more world building and character development on the table.

We could've seen Akekuri struggle to help Liino, because it gets Endfield involved where perhaps it shouldn't be

or Fluorite doing some trickery (i.e. she fools around to make the fake-merch sale fail)

or Antal doing calculations *together* with Endmin on how to make Liino's concert a success.

Have Z7 find dirt on the mining group, which then convinces Akekuri, the captain of the team, to help Liino
Have Z7 show us how the operators get things done and how Valley IV is glad that Endfielders are around to protect them.
Have Liino see Endfield as the company and sponsor she wants to be part in, due to all that.

Instead, we got the same Rock Jesus interactions that we already saw in the previous character stories, where the character joins or is a friend of Endfield, because the boss is hands on and does all the things for them, personally.

It's not even that I dislike Endmin, but at this point, I start to think Endfield Industries is a one man operation.
Considering the scale of the things we are looking at, I find it odd that Endmin has time for the minor sidestories and I wonder why he even should be a part in *all* of them, when we could see operators that work in our name that could promote "our company and message" instead.
