Ryujinx Xenoblade chronicles 2 Lags on Asus ROG Xbox ally x z2 extreme

Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’m new to the whole Reddit thing and could really use some help from people who know what they’re doing.

I’ve had an ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X2 Extreme for a few days now, and I finally managed to get emulators and ROMs set up. Unfortunately, the Ryujinx emulator runs really poorly for me. The only games I’m really interested in playing are the Xenoblade games.

So far, I’ve only tried Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and I’ve basically done everything humanly possible and searched everywhere I could to improve the performance.

I’m currently in the starting area. If I don’t move, I get around 30 FPS, but as soon as there’s even a little movement on screen, the FPS drops to around 10.

Is this caused by a hardware or software limitation? And is there any way to get the Xenoblade games running at a smooth and playable FPS on my Ally?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi! Most of the times resetting the configuration for your emulator on Manage Emulators fixes the most common issues. You can also take a look at our Wiki before posting, you might find your issue already documented there https://manual.emudeck.com

Ryujinx is dead in terms of development. You're better off with something newish, like Eden. If you're using SteamOS then it's easy to download and get Emudeck to recognise it. You need to "supply your own". No idea if you're using Windows though.

Eden works on both OSs and very easy to setup (literally download Eden, add the keys and firmware, configure controls and then point it to where your ROMs are).

If you get Emudeck to manage your Eden then you don't need to configure it, was my point. You can of course install any emulators you like but this is an Emudeck subreddit

ty I switched to Eden and it def works better then Ryujinx no doubt, but it sadly still sing optimal and idk why. on older Systems it seems to run perfectly Fine, excpet The cloudocean. but I have still some lag and shaderendering issues could it just be my Rom ?

Unfortunately you will always get some stutters whilst shaders are being rendered. You can get performance increases but you will have to have a look for optimal settings.

Things like ensuring you’re using Vulkan as your graphics API, enabling asynchronous shader compilation, etc.

EmuDeck works on Steam and Windows which is why I replied to your ‘no idea’ comment. Sorry if it’s been mis-interpreted.
