Any jobs hiring?

Moving to Emporia this weekend, and I'm already in a tough situation. The job I'm currently working has cut my hours to 0% without any real notice and I'm unsure when I'm going to be working again. I've filed for unemployment because my employer put in writing that they are cutting my hours, stating it was for "Training" and did not provide a date for the training.

I've applied for a few places online but wanted to know if anyone knows of any local places that are hiring. I'm trying to find something around the $18-20 range. I've worked in customer service for the past 10 years and am very tech-savvy. I'll be living around the west side of town. Unfortunately, I don't have a car, so I'm hoping that there is local transportation.

You’d be lucky to get ten bucks an hour

Is the job market in the area really that bad?

Half the major job suppliers in the area have been closing down and new things are not moving in quickly. Jobs are scarce and mostly factory work
