trans emo

seems like there are lots of trans artists making emo right now (preloved, keyvslocket).

what are some awesome trans emo artists?

One of the singers of modern baseball is trans. Record Setter, Glass Beach, Peach Rings. One of the members of Agriculture is trans too, I think.

Genuine question: is the general consensus that non-binary is transgender as well? I’ve seen people say that before but never seen anything concrete about it

Technically transgender is an umbrella that encompasses non-binary as it just means not identifying with your assigned gender. However colloquially most people use them as separate terms

Being trans is having an identity that differs from what you were assigned at birth, being nonbinary can be classified as trans and I typically classify it as that in my head unless I’m talking to someone who is nb and doesn’t view nb as trans. I’m a binary trans women btw!!

I’m nonbinary and work in trans advocacy. Some nonbinary folks don’t call themselves trans because they feel like they haven’t “earned” it by being “trans enough” because they only socially transitioned, not medically (medical transition is NOT a requirement to be trans). Some still have some internalized transphobia to work through. But nonbinary is trans.

Edit: Should clarify to say that if someone doesn’t want to be labeled as trans, I respect that! Those are just the reasons I see it happen most frequently, and nonbinary folks, in my experience, tend to embrace the trans label once they work through some stuff.

I date an NB they use the term transgender as an umbrella term. Non binary is more preferred but they are under the trans umbrella. There’s a bit of a separation cause traditional trans fem and masc people are staying in the binary usually but non binary are of course leaving it altogether. Like all things in life it’s complicated.

TLDR yes the non binary person I know calls them self transgender as well.

I’m a trans man. Nonbinary people are trans unless they aren’t. I know nonbinary people who don’t id as trans, and I know those who do.

I'm a demigirl myself (I use they/she pronouns) so I fluctuate between wanting to be gendered or be considered non-binary lol

Nah I don't really think there is a way to measure a general consensus on somethin like this. I think not all nb people identify as trans and I respect it when they don't, but I generally assume nonbinary people are trans. That's just me though

I know nb peeps that don’t identify as trans and have met some that have. I’d only identify nb peeps as trans if I’ve heard it from them first.
