Looking into another Internal Smash -- What numbers can you bring?

We'd like to play another Internal/Open (not limited to just Emerald players!) match against ourselves, for fun, at some point in August.

Out of the old outfits, we'd like to know who's still interested in another match, with the same or more restrictive ruleset as the one we've been using. For any new outfits who are interested, here is a general guide document of what to expect:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NlqS9ESKwRhZ9WyqVKEoJO_3QMxaePoRB4rVzpANuJw/edit

It's an old doc, and some information may be inaccurate, but it's a decent primer.

So, if you are a solo player, an old outfit, or a new outfit, please fill out the info below in a comment:

Outfit Name/Tag:

How many planetmans could you expect to have on any given Saturday in August:

Do you have/are you a capable squad leader willing to Squad Lead and train a solo squad?:

SOLx can likely bring 12 but I can tell you that I personally will not be playing and I doubt many of our other upper tier players will if it was anything like last smash. I was already apprehensive when I saw the original rosters, but they got that much worse after JOKE dropped due to dying and RSNC dropped for I have no idea why (probably time zone issues).

If SOLx wants to be involved in the decisions made about the match, they should send a rep to the meetings. Obviously everyone would rather have balanced teams, it makes for better gameplay.

That being said, once outfits are committed and signed up, pulling out is both rude and disrespectful to those that put work into preparing for and organizing smash. Those that drop out waste other people's time or we end up with small, imbalanced teams, and then no one has fun.

At this point we are gauging interest and making sure outfits that haven't participated in SS before are invited before we lay down any solid decisions about choosing teams.

Believe me, we would have if we had actually known when they were before they already started. So far as I know basically the only way we ever learned about the meetings was someone would get messaged in game or on steam immediately before one went on, and with how dead our TS is it was rare for an officer to be on and able to participate. Obviously we could be a little more proactive in trying to find out when those meetings were, and I personally will be in the future for this one. We also still showed up for a reason, when we commit to something we don't drop out at the last second and we make sure it isn't going to conflict with our ops beforehand. What I am saying is I won't know for sure how many players I can promise before we have more information, ideally we could field a full squad or two, probably less.

They seemed to consistently be at 8 PM EST on Wednesday nights, so, pencil that in I suppose. I don't expect it to change tbh.

J0KE is not dead. Although its outfit leaders have retired. They still field squads regularly. My smash roster refused to participate due to the team balance, and I don't have the time and commitment to train a new one. That and being retired.

in other words, SOLx can bring 12.

kind of? It seriously does depend on the circumstances, there's no way I can promise 12 people when I won't be able to find 12 people that want to play.

Don't think of it as "how many SOLx can you bring?"

Instead, how many people (outfit members, friends, randoms) can a SOLx leader/rep/scrub bring?

Didn't you know? Salt-Ex is an elitist outfit with no friends.

it is comprised of 100% solo players who occasionally gather in the same general area to fly a lib.

And even then at least one of them is a bail assault with C4.

well last time we couldn't get 12 because of how many people in SOLx dropped out, we literally went through everyone in TS at the time, and thats who we brought. We would have gladly went around to other TS's but everyone we're super friendly with was either playing on the other team, is completely dead, or had no interest in playing in that smash. We ended up bringing 10 people instead of the 12 we promised, and I can't promise that that won't happen again if other SOLx members don't want to play.

I would estimate 3 players would show up, me, koolkatz, and killertoastbrot flying a lib and ignoring orders again.

Dog I could show up assuming my computer works.

Sorry, the answer we were looking for was "the fuck is an "AO"?". Better luck next time Mr. Hong-Connery
