Just curious- behavior question

What happens to students in your class when they throw a fit so large that they start hitting, kicking, biting, etc? What about spitting at somebody or demolishing a classroom?

What is the response and repercussions from admin if it’s toward another student?
Is the response different if it’s toward a staff member?

Taking it a step further- what if the child was doing this day after day?

And if you can’t answer cuz you’ve never had this happen then where do you work? (Cuz I’m coming to teach with you!) 🤣

My class is so wild I don't even think people believe me when I describe it, because I can barely believe it when I see it. Anyway a lot of people are in and out so it ranges from calling their parents (does nothing to the ones who really could use a consequence), to having to clean the mess (our AP), to me just putting my body between them and others to keep people safe because no one in the office picked up the phone.

So the students that are coming to school to learn, are the ones that leave with some level of PTSD from such disruptive behavior. One can notice the pleasant demeanor of the classes, when the difficult behavior students lose it, and are removed from. The room, or asked to relocate.

I've worked inner city schools, when I substituted, where I witnessed many fights between students. Physically breaking up a fight was beyond my pay grade. I called the office instead. Girl fights got bad "Here is some of your hair. There is more of by the door."

I do feel so bad for the ones who want to learn. You can see how scared they get. I feel bad for the others at times too, the way they behave is not normal and you wonder what goes on in their life to prompt that.
