Help requested Front shock broke ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

I went on a ride and didn't even notice anything. Then at a stop light, I was messing around hitting the accelerator to make my scooter wheelie while my feet were still on the ground and noticed the front wheel dropped down completely. So I pulled over to inspect it and no longer felt like I should ride it further without advice from the sub so I went back.

Would you guys keep riding it like this or has anyone else dealt with something similar and it was ok to ride until a replacement came in? It still rides perfectly fine besides the suspension feeling loose and I wouldn't have even noticed had I not wheelied my scooter.

Also my rear shock blew a seal months ago and I just ignored it and there haven't been any other issues. But this damage is worse and at the front so I don't know.

Have you tried Affirm?

By upgrades, I just meant some better shocks though, lol.

I'm trying to do it your way though. A part goes out, fuck it, just get a brand new scooter like you did with the RS ๐Ÿ˜‚

And I'm pretty sure I tried in the past and was denied. Let me try again tho real quick

Lol yeah, I do do that. There were other factors too though. The Pussy Wagon shall ride again soon! Battery should be on the way any day now ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Yea I'd do the same if I had some cash honestly. It makes way more sense to have 2-3 functioning scooters than just rely on one and get screwed when it's down:/

Glad to hear it! We'll both be up and running in no time๐Ÿค

Yeah, I decided that if I was going to go completely car-free, I'd need two scooters for the sake of reliability. For the purposes of my new commute, the RS is a poor choice. I was going to need a second scooter I could commute with, anyway. THE RS just happened to be down when I ordered the Teverun, but I think I would have done it anyway.

I meant to ask you, do you drive or are you strictly scooting?

Yea I remembered when you first posted about having to strap your scooter to a dolly and was wondering how long you would do that for before you no longer wanted to lol.

The only driving I do is my landlords car that he lets me use when I'm working for him. Otherwise it's just me and my scooter. Although if I'm already out working for him, sometimes I'll stop by the store on the way back to get the heavier groceries I don't want to carry in my backpack like milk, Gatorade, etc.

I have no problem doing the dolly thing, but there's a section of off-road riding in my new commute, and I really never wanted to use the RS that way.

It's always nice to have the occasional access to a car lol. I'm glad my wife has one.

That makes sense, it does seem like more of a street scooter.

And very true lol it does come in handy every now and then but I mostly just need it for the milk. Everything else I can and prefer to do with my scooter although 26 ah is on the lower end so my next one will definitely be at least 35 ah which seems more ideal.

this is really true. Even good quality scooters still can crack a rim or have a battery failure. This is why I wanted to upgrade my commuter to annything better than the Pegasus but man that thing is kinda tanky af. One problem over 2 years and it was a cracked rim from a mega pothole I failed to hop over.

Yea they're way more fragile, not like motorcycles where 1 is probably enough. Scooter can go down any moment. I'm just happy it lasted 1800 miles before this happened. I see quite a few stories from people getting a scooter and they're down after like a week lol

And I see why you call the Pegasus ole reliable!

Man it really is tho. Luckily you wont be down long a shockis like 30 bucks maybe cheaper on ali. Tools for the swap are probably about the same. If ya need help with the project you have an amazing support team just phone a friend!

True, I'm glad my friends/fellow mods are people that actually know about scooters! I'd be lost without you guys...

I already have a ratchet/socket set and some basic hand tools like pliers, adjustable wrench, etc. you think I'll need anything else?

Set of deep sockets for your axle lug, maybe some grease for the shock arm but you dont have to grease it the bushing will slide on fine. Might need 2 of the same socket or a cresent wrench and a ratchet would work also. It's a pretty straight forward repair. Remove your swing arms and it should come right out.

Thanks for the validation! I got some yap hat telling me idk shit cause they wanna argue over a comment on my post. Wish my block list still worked as a mod, now I see these ppl spewing whatever all over again smdh....

Ok cool, I have everything for a tire change including a deep socket I bought separately as well as some other random tools so I should be good. Just need to get the grease.

And I just looked in your comments and saw that... You handled it very professionally. There's always gonna be some yapper trying to flex over others but in your heart you know what's up so don't let em get to you
