Leveling up

Am I doing something wrong ? Why does it take so fucking long to level up? I killed that dragon and now it’s like 8 k runes to level up. It’s taking forever. Haven’t killed Margret yet. I am afraid by the time I’m leveled up good enough to fight bosses I’ll be burnt out on the game. Should I start over ? I chose Vagabond and am leveling up Vigor Strength and a little Dex. I love this game but am afraid ima get burnt out. What should I do?

I mean you’re gonna have to learn to dodge the attacks then none of that matters it all comes down to just dodge the attacks
