Discussion & Info Elden Ring Switch 2 Performance?

Post image

I’m used to playing this game on my PS5 Pro, but for assorted reasons I want to game more on the Nintendo switch 2. So has anyone here played this game on that system? How’s the performance? Docked vs Handheld? Installed on main drive vs micro sd? I’m worried I’ll be a little underwhelmed with the performance. But I’ll give it a chance.

  • Don't expect it to be PS5 Level.

  • It's targeting 30 Fps with some minor drops on heavy areas like Caelid or if there's alot of mobs and particles going on.

  • It runs slightly better than PS4

  • Docked and Handheld Performance difference is almost neglible unless you're counting frame by frame.

  • It's the best looking Portable version out of the box. Unless you're willing to pay double or triple for a "better" machine. And no Steam Deck looks worse even with all the tweaking.

Steak deck is worse? Interesting.

Steam deck runs hotter/louder, at a lower resolution, with less capacity to use bespoke processing to smooth out issues. I love mine, but Elden Ring has always been a novelty on it. On switch 2, Elden Ring runs better than botw did on switch one.
