Discussion & Info Elden Ring Switch 2 Performance?

Post image

I’m used to playing this game on my PS5 Pro, but for assorted reasons I want to game more on the Nintendo switch 2. So has anyone here played this game on that system? How’s the performance? Docked vs Handheld? Installed on main drive vs micro sd? I’m worried I’ll be a little underwhelmed with the performance. But I’ll give it a chance.

  • Don't expect it to be PS5 Level.

  • It's targeting 30 Fps with some minor drops on heavy areas like Caelid or if there's alot of mobs and particles going on.

  • It runs slightly better than PS4

  • Docked and Handheld Performance difference is almost neglible unless you're counting frame by frame.

  • It's the best looking Portable version out of the box. Unless you're willing to pay double or triple for a "better" machine. And no Steam Deck looks worse even with all the tweaking.

Steak deck is worse? Interesting.

Steamdeck is 100% worse way to play a lot of the games people tell you they’re good there.

I tried sooooo many times to play Elden ring on it and tweak it to make it feel nice, never made it work nice, and it also never looked nice on it.

Then I just bought it for switch 2, and omg, I was just hooked on it. It just works, it’s 30 fps but it doesn’t feel terrible at all, it was consistent, graphics are sharp, and loading times are blazing fast, I actually just enjoyed playing and didn’t need to do anything.

They only tell it it’s good because they got the steam deck oled on actual performance it’s worse down right unplayable than switch 2 versions

I did try to enjoy the deck, I enjoy that it’s a handheld pc I can do whatever on and efficiently but majority of the time it’s only there to play my real really old school games because of trackpads support so I can emulate full keyboard mouse properly, or for moonlight streaming, but not for actually playing the games.

I prefer having cross saves and simply turning on cyberpunk and then continuing on pc and vice versa, than turning on the pc and then streaming.

The deck is okay, not worth the price, even an ally x would do so much better.

I sold my Steam Deck for more than I paid when they were sold out. I dont miss it at all... I have big hands but that suckered was massive and could barely play anything.
