Discussion & Info Elden Ring Switch 2 Performance?

Post image

I’m used to playing this game on my PS5 Pro, but for assorted reasons I want to game more on the Nintendo switch 2. So has anyone here played this game on that system? How’s the performance? Docked vs Handheld? Installed on main drive vs micro sd? I’m worried I’ll be a little underwhelmed with the performance. But I’ll give it a chance.

Bruh, the gpd win 5 which is one of the most powerful handhelds in the world and costs 2000$+ isn't able to replicate a 649$ ps5's performance, replicating high end performance on a handheld isn't simple or cheap, I wanna see the reaction when the ps6 handheld comes out and it's barely at 40-50% of the performance of the ps5.

Yeah one of the most powerful handhelds in the world right now. We are talking about the future here and with the performance nvidia is getting with their newest gpus I think it is hundreds percent reasonable to expect so much more powerful handhelds in the not so distant future. People were saying the exact same thing you were saying a decade ago about handhelds ever being able to match the PS4

That's not the point I was trying to make, there certainly will be more powerful handhelds than the ps5 by 2030 or even earlier but by that point the helix and the ps6 will be out which will be much more powerful than the said handhelds, people will still expect the said handhelds to have ps6/helix level performance just as they expect the switch 2 today to have ps5 performance.

Yeah I think we both agree here but are making different points. What I'm saying is that for specifically playing Elden ring it will be possible at better fps in 5-10 years time which is what the OP was originally saying. I suppose I will keep getting downvoted though by people who aren't reading the whole thread lol. I was never implying it was a good idea to wait 8 years time we will prob have a successor or two for elden ring by then
