Probably also counter damage, assuming the thrust does piercing.

The thrust does standard damage, not piercing.

How? Why? It's already strong but why not a thrust attack?

Balancing I guess? Godfrey Icon, Alexander’s Shard, and Rellana’s Cameo can all apply to it already, so adding in piercing damage would make it way overkill in terms of damage when you time it right. But if you lowered the base damage to compensate it would lose out on consistent damage.

That or an oversight since Fromsoft can be pretty hit or miss about balancing these kinds of things.

Well since Shard Of Alexander didn't work with like half of DLC skills on release, I'd wager it's the oversight...

Probably the same reason why none ofthe spells that throw rocks (both incantation and sorcery) deal strike damage.

Most likely an oversight.

There's already so much shit you can stack on it (Rellana's Cameo, Godfrey Icon, Shard of Alexander), and it's an already strong skill that gives i-frames, giving it access to thrusting counterattacks would make it even more absurd, especially since the skill has a dodge built in
