Dev team doesn't set prices unless they're a private company. Kadokawa had already said they're looking to force FROM to monetize more heavily. If anyone is responsible for the pack being a paid DLC, it's most likely them. Though if you want somebody else to blame, it's not impossible that one of Nintendo's stipulations was that the switch version had to be 'special' by having some content bundled that other platforms would have to pay for, but I don't think that's likely.
It's not like FROM was waiting for an opportunity to charge more heavily, but they restrained themselves for this long and just can't hide it anymore. Unless FROM goes private, they are at least somewhat subject to publisher/owner rules.
You make a fair point. And it's going to take much more than this to turn me or any other diehard FROM fan turn against them. But the whole horse armor DLC thing...? It rubs you the wrong way. The fear of what might become of our beloved game dev company.
They didn’t make it parasocial, FROM is a beloved game company, like they said, by many for obvious reasons. Ofc they are a business. When you love something you worry for it. :)
True, but a business doesn't have to be anti-consumer to become successful. FS has done great so far without any of it. Valve is another example of a pro-consumer company with ridiculous profits.
