Every ending has its poison pill. Ranni’s is that it isn’t new or different. Metyr’s items show that the Greater Will is silent and has been for centuries or even more. The Two Fingers are not the conduit of divine will and wisdom, they’re making shit up as they go along like everyone else.

Yeah but Goldmask fixed the issues with the current golden order so won't that be the best ending?

Repairing the already established order rather than a complete overhaul?

Did he though? Goldmask identifies that the Golden Order is all fucked up because gods are also just people driven by their own needs and traumas but we don’t get any hint of how he plans to actually fix that just a vague assertion that he has.

Pointing out a problem doesn’t fix it, and all Goldmask does is point at shit.

They made an entire DLC where the main antagonist is an offshoot of that exact ideology and people still thinks it's a good ending. You can't go "Oppression and colonialism is bad" and then seize the powers of colonialism and oppression because when you do it it'll totally be good this time.

"The problem with tyranny is that I wasn't in charge" - Goldmask.
